Tsunade answered instinctively, but Hyuga Hiashi looked as though he had been struck by lightning. He stood frozen in place, staring blankly at Ronglin as he weighed the credibility of those words. Could two Dojutsu really be concentrated in one person?
If anyone else had said that, Hyuga Hiashi would have certainly snorted and shouted, "Utter nonsense!!"
But Ronglin had said it. Hyuga Hiashi's first reaction was to believe him, before he found the notion somewhat absurd.
Even Tsunade, who had initially doubted him, became uncertain as she watched Ronglin smile without saying a word.
"You're not joking?"
"There are many things in this world that you don't understand. That includes the Uchiha's Sharingan and the Hyuga Clan's Byakugan, both of which hold many hidden secrets. The Uchiha left behind a stone tablet; as long as one's Dojutsu is strong enough, some secrets can be uncovered. But what about the Hyuga Clan?"
Ronglin rose and slowly walked behind Hyuga Hiashi, patting him on the shoulder as he said in a low voice:
"Believe me, and stay on guard. Because once certain people obtain your two daughters' eyes, it will spell disaster for the Hyuga Clan. Do not doubt my words."
"Lord Hokage."
Hyuga Hiashi's breathing grew ragged. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, then opened them and asked without turning around:
"This subordinate only wishes to know whether the example Lord Hokage mentioned earlier would hold true for Lord Hokage himself."
"Surely not? That would be too..."
Tsunade still wanted to argue, but when she saw the expression on Ronglin's face, she found herself speechless. Could it be true?
But it sounded far too fantastical to believe.
