The scout lurking by the shore came running back in a panic, tumbling over himself as he delivered a garbled report. Only after a while did everyone lying in ambush along the shore learn that the ship was guarded by none other than Jinbe, the former Seven Warlords of the Sea and Knight of the Sea.
The leader looked at the panting scout and beckoned him closer. The scout had only taken two steps forward when the leader suddenly flipped his hand. A blade shot out with a swift thrust, piercing straight through the scout's heart with a wet squelch.
The scout opened his mouth, unable to say anything. Blood gurgled out, then his entire body convulsed before he toppled to the ground, dead.
The people around them looked at the leader with fear. The leader snorted coldly. "Trash like this is useless! So what if he's a former Seven Warlords of the Sea? We... have never been afraid!" He forcibly swallowed the name that had nearly slipped from his lips.
"Leader?" someone asked nervously. "Have we been exposed? Otherwise, it couldn't be such a coincidence that Jinbe took out three of our companions three times in a row."
"Then we were definitely discovered." The leader snorted. "I don't know whether Jinbe has Observation Haki, but the Fish-Man race's hearing and sense of smell are dozens of times sharper than those of humans. He must have noticed us the moment we arrived."
"Then what do we do?"
"Go back and request reinforcements." The leader said coldly, "The three people who entered Giant Beast Forest during the day must have been Superstar Ronglin, who has recently risen to fame. Jinbe alone is already difficult enough for us. If Ronglin comes back alive from Giant Beast Forest, we won't stand a chance
