With a sweep of her hand, Tsunade announced that they were dismissed.
"Great! I definitely need to bring a lot more stuff!!!"
Harusame Yu bounced up excitedly like a little puppy, then happily dragged Shimura Ou away with her.
"Aren't you going back to pack?"
Seeing that Ronglin had no intention of leaving, Tsunade was quite surprised. Usually, rookies who had been cooped up for months would be as thrilled and excited as Harusame Yu when they finally started taking C-rank missions. But Ronglin seemed completely unchanged.
"I've already packed enough food, and I have sufficient Ninja Tools. I don't need anything else."
Ronglin answered honestly. As for clothes, who brought a whole pile of clothes and miscellaneous junk while carrying out a mission?
"Interesting kid."
Tsunade smiled. In truth, she was fairly easygoing most of the time, as long as no one deliberately provoked her or disturbed her when she was in a bad mood.
Usually, Tsunade was somewhat carefree and a little overly enthusiastic.
"By the way, do you resent the Uchiha or the Hyuga?"
Tsunade had wanted to ask that question for a long time, but had always held it back. Today, she finally found a suitable opportunity. Harusame Yu and Shimura Ou were usually nearby, making certain things difficult to say directly, since too much was involved.
Ronglin paused slightly, then smiled. "I've never cared about it, so where would any resentment come from? The path of a civilian ninja is harder than that of a ninja from a major clan, but with Orochimaru and Minato Namikaze as examples, does it really make any difference whether one comes from a major clan or not?"
"You really dare to make comparisons, kid."
Tsunade could not help laughing. If an ordinary person had said that, she might have thought them overestimating themselves. Orochimaru and Minato Namikaze's achievements were beyond what ordinary people could imagine. Daring to use them as comparisons for oneself was not something just anyone could do.
What Tsunade did not know was that Ronglin had never compared himself to Minato Namikaze or Orochimaru in his heart, because there was no need. If he were to compare himself to anyone, it would be someone greater than them, not them.
One could imagine how far Ronglin's Sharingan and Byakugan would eventually develop without level-up restrictions. That was not even counting the even more special Kekkei Genkai that had yet to awaken. Ronglin had never believed himself inferior to Minato Namikaze or Orochimaru.
Still, mentioning the two of them inevitably brought up the upcoming Third Shinobi World War, as well as the struggle between Minato Namikaze and Orochimaru for the position of Hokage.
Minato Namikaze had the support of the Third Hokage, while Orochimaru had Danzo, Konoha's shadow in the dark, backing him.
Would history still proceed as it had in the original story?
Compared to Orochimaru and Minato Namikaze, Ronglin lacked only experience and time. Such comparisons had no meaning at all.
Thinking of this, Ronglin felt somewhat fortunate. It was a good thing he had removed the upgrade restrictions on the Byakugan and Sharingan back then. Otherwise, it would have been rather troublesome.
Whether it was the Byakugan or the Sharingan, upgrading them was extremely difficult. The leap from the Mangekyo to the Eternal Mangekyo alone was a massive hurdle!
Ronglin could not exactly find a brother with a Mangekyo to transplant his eyes from. Not to mention that upgrading the Eternal Mangekyo into the Rinnegan required the fusion of Indra's and Asura's Chakra.
As for upgrading the Byakugan into the Tenseigan, the difficulty was no less than that of the Rinnegan—the moon.
Subconsciously, Ronglin looked up at the sky. Unfortunately, the sky was clear for thousands of miles, and the moon could not be seen at all.
But how was the Kekkei Genkai that controlled time supposed to awaken? That was what puzzled Ronglin most right now. If this Kekkei Genkai awakened and he could control time, would that mean he would become an ageless, immortal old monster?
Ronglin was looking forward to it.
Seeing Ronglin merely smile without speaking, Tsunade frowned, her beautiful eyes filled with confusion. Was this kid really so confident in himself? Then perhaps she should give him a push.
From the bottom of her heart, Tsunade hoped Ronglin's growth would surpass Minato Namikaze's. That way, she could really rub it in Jiraiya's face, and it would benefit the village as well.
