Every day, the hospital and the Medical Department alone were enough to keep her busy; squeezing out a few months of time was no easy task.
"But I feel like a thousand-watt lightbulb. Is that really appropriate?"
After saying that, Ronglin deliberately blinked, looking particularly mischievous.
"Don't even think about it!!!"
Tsunade's cheeks reddened as she roared, "You're not going anywhere. Focus on your studies, or you know the consequences."
Narrowing her eyes, Tsunade raised a hand, the threat unmistakable. Dan Katō, standing nearby, became embarrassed instead, feeling that his loose tongue had gotten Ronglin scolded.
"Fine, pretend I don't exist. You two carry on, carry on."
Ronglin teased them with a smile that wasn't quite a smile. Opportunities to tease Tsunade were rare, after all. Though she looked fierce and intimidating, she was only putting on an act; she would not actually beat him up at the slightest disagreement.
Actually, Tsunade was quite gentle when she wasn't angry. At the very least, she did not go around hitting people.
"Dan, I'm sorry. As you can see, I really don't have the time right now."
There was little time left. Tsunade's special training for Ronglin would only last three short months, so she could only apologize to Dan Katō.
"It's fine. I understand."
A trace of disappointment flashed through Dan Katō's eyes, but he put away his feelings and answered with a smile.
No matter how disappointed he was, he could only endure it.
"What are you looking at?!"
But after Dan Katō left, Tsunade gave herself a puzzled once-over. Her clothes were in order, and there was nothing on the corner of her mouth. Why was this kid staring at her so intently?
"Nothing. I just feel a little sorry for that guy."
Ronglin bluntly voiced what was on his mind, leaving Tsunade speechless.
"Uchiha Ronglin, has no one taught you to show respect to your seniors?"
"Sorry for him how?"
After spending several months together, Tsunade knew Ronglin's personality all too well. It could be said that in all of Konoha, she was the one who understood him best. This kid was carefree with everyone and had never cared for formal titles between seniors and juniors. No matter how she corrected him, it was useless. Over time, Tsunade simply let him be, so long as he did not push it in front of her.
"Fine, forget I said anything." Clearly, Ronglin had overestimated Tsunade. She was ridiculously dense. How could Tsunade, who was so sharp and capable in every other respect, be so slow when it came to relationships?
Or perhaps that was why she had only begun pursuing romance after becoming a thirty-year-old spinster?
No matter how strong they were, women were still women. Once their curiosity was piqued, they were not so easily brushed off.
And once Tsunade's curiosity had been stirred, she was certainly not going to let Ronglin off so easily.
Left with no choice, Ronglin could only come clean. "For a man in the throes of love, the most unbearable thing is being unable to be close to his girlfriend. It's even harder to stand only seeing her once every few months. After a while, he might start to resent it, or perhaps do something foolish!"
Women in love tended to be clingy, but were men any better?
After enough time had passed, it would be hard for nothing to go wrong.
"What do you mean?"
Tsunade frowned, clearly displeased. What did he mean, perhaps doing something foolish?
