Ronglin negotiated Killer B’s release and then joined the other Kage in confronting a coalition of small countries backed by Kirigakure. The summit ended without a solution, and Kirigakure’s sudden blockade left the leaders more uncertain about the crisis.

• Ay traveled to Konoha to negotiate for Killer B, and Ronglin secured Kumogakure’s ore and a share of the proceeds from Konoha’s forged goods in exchange for releasing him.
• Ronglin learned that Kirigakure had recognized the Small Nations Alliance and joined the Kage in discussing its demands and the risk of war.
• Ronglin traveled to Iwagakure with Kisame Hoshigaki and Mei Terumi to attend Ōnoki’s summit with Ay and Rasa.
• The Kage debated whether to attack the allied small countries, but Ronglin warned that victory would leave them facing displaced ninja and civilians across their borders.
• After news of the summit’s failure leaked, Ōnoki suspected Ronglin, and their accusations nearly sparked a fight before Ōnoki apologized and Ronglin returned to the meeting.

Ronglin helped organize the four Great Ninja Villages into an alliance against the Small Nations Alliance, then kept Konoha guarding the camp while the other villages attacked. The enemy’s retreat turned into a series of deadly ambushes, and reports linked the attacks to Akatsuki and Orochimaru.

• Ronglin joined Ōnoki, Rasa, and Ay in agreeing to war, and Ōnoki became commander-in-chief after Rasa backed his candidacy over Ay.
• The leaders agreed on troop contributions and shared medical supplies, while Ronglin assigned Konoha five hundred Medical Ninja and five hundred Hyuga scouts.
• Ronglin returned to Konoha and organized its forces, then led them to the Land of Frost rendezvous as the Small Nations Alliance harassed the other villages on the way.
• At the Allied Forces camp, Ronglin rejected merging the villages’ armies and proposed that each village command its own section, leaving Konoha to guard the camp, supplies, and Medical Department.

Orochimaru lured Ōnoki, Ay, Ronglin, and Tsunade to Mount San Shu and reanimated Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju to fight them. Ronglin eventually faced the brothers with his Susanoo and the Nine-Tails, leaving the Nine-Tails and Hashirama’s Wood Golem locked in battle.

• Ronglin warned Ōnoki that Orochimaru and Danzo had joined the enemy, but Ōnoki dismissed his concerns and ordered the allied forces to begin tracking operations.
• After an Iwagakure squad suffered heavy losses, Ōnoki and Ay went to Mount San Shu to confront Orochimaru, with Ronglin and Tsunade following.
• Orochimaru revealed that he had lured them there and used Impure World Reincarnation to summon Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju.
• Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju fought Ay and Ōnoki, while Ronglin held Tsunade back until the brothers’ powerful techniques wore down the two Kage.
• Ronglin summoned his immense Susanoo and battled the Senju brothers, striking Tobirama Senju and overpowering Hashirama Senju’s Wood Golem and Wood Dragon.

After awakening the Rinne Sharingan, Ronglin defeats Hashirama Senju’s constructs and helps the allied Kage prepare for Orochimaru’s Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu. He also trains Shisui and Mei Terumi, then agrees to confront Orochimaru as the villages plan a war of attrition.
