Uesugi Tetsu survived supernatural threats in the real world while growing stronger through training and dangerous trips to Everworld. After defeating the workshop’s Foreman and obtaining a sword and the Ksitigarbha key item, he was left to meet a caller who claimed to be a cop’s lackey.

• Uesugi Tetsu killed Kukuri, rescued Tokugawa Ririko, and obtained the Laughing Brahma card and other supernatural items.
• Uesugi Tetsu entered Tokoyo as Laughing Brahma, learned the Ki-ai Technique, and began exploring Edo Castle and Arakawa Ghost Village.
• Uesugi Tetsu trained with Tokugawa Ririko, whose swordsmanship helped him improve, while she discovered her feelings for him and reached Clear Sword Heart.
• Uesugi Tetsu used Nanjō Emi’s rag doll to learn that the figure posing as his father was an evil spirit, then concealed his fear when the faceless Dad appeared.

Uesugi Tetsu fought the Friendship Club’s influence, gained Two-Shaku-Sama as a Shikigami, and killed White Brahma after rescuing Kitano Runa. He strengthened Laughing Brahma and boarded a train to investigate Kisaragi Station.

• Uesugi Tetsu and Ririko defeated cultists and Flying Head Monsters, while Nanjō Emi warned them that the First Wave might arrive soon.
• Uesugi Tetsu explored Arakawa Ghost Village and Edo Castle, met the Five-tailed Fox, and killed Ai Bielie’s clone when it impersonated Ririko.
• Uesugi Tetsu’s Laughing Brahma form completed its first star upgrade, and he used a Ki-ai Technique to subdue Yao-Shaku-Sama, who became his Shikigami, Two-Shaku-Sama.
• Kitano Runa called Uesugi Tetsu for help when White Brahma attacked her, and he fought the spirit in both the real world and Everworld.
• Uesugi Tetsu killed White Brahma by using his revive token to survive its deadly attack, then woke in the hospital and learned that Kitano Runa’s mother had stabilized.
• Uesugi Tetsu raised Laughing Brahma to Epic quality with White Brahma’s Mask and received a quest to find the Nameless Swordsman in Edo Castle.
• Uesugi Tetsu boarded a late-night train to reach Kisaragi Station, transformed into Laughing Brahma, and summoned Two-Shaku-Sama as the train arrived at an altered station.

Uesugi Tetsu explored Kisaragi Station, lost and then reunited with Ye Chun, and fought the entities haunting the train. After killing Niijima Yuta and surviving an investigation, he agreed to return to school with Ririko to draw out Ai Bielie.

• Uesugi Tetsu boarded the Everworld train, fought Five-Headed JK, and met Kujo Tsubaki and Kajiwara Kagesuke before getting off at Kisaragi Station.
• Uesugi Tetsu unlocked Kisaragi Station, met Ye Chun, and watched her die to Malakobako before battling the spirits blocking the tunnel.
• Ye Chun returned alive, and Uesugi Tetsu fought High-Speed Grandpa before visiting Kitano Runa’s mother and helping Zhou Zhenyu reunite with Hoshino Yumeko.
• After Yumeko died and Zhou Zhenyu fell into an abnormal state, Uesugi Tetsu accepted Nanjō Emi’s commission to exorcise Malakobako and killed it.
• Niijima Yuta tortured Zhou Zhenyu to learn Uesugi Tetsu’s location, then fought Uesugi Tetsu at Nippori Station and was killed by him.
• Tokugawa Ririko found Uesugi Tetsu alive, and Nanjō Emi revealed that Niijima Yuta had led the Friendship Club and was supposed to have been killed by her.
• After Calendar Doctor examined him, Uesugi Tetsu agreed to return to school with Ririko to lure out Ai Bielie, then went home and prepared to return to Arakawa Ghost Village.

Uesugi Tetsu strengthened his weapons and techniques, hunted spirits for Soul Ash, and uncovered signs of the Demon Guiding Society. As the First Wave drew near, he learned that demon allies could put him at odds with the Onmyo Bureau, and Ririko woke to find she had slept through the crisis.

• Uesugi Tetsu had Zashiki reforged Kaga Kiyomitsu, then parted from her after she refused to become his Shikigami and asked him to remember her with Red Bean Rice.
• Uesugi Tetsu learned Corona Breathing Technique from Ririko, fused it with the Incomplete Ki-ai Technique, and improved his combat skills through sparring with her.
• Uesugi Tetsu destroyed Taiko Suzuki, then found Katsumi’s shop and traded Soul Ash for Remnant Heart and a damaged Jade Compendium.
• Uesugi Tetsu followed the Broken Walker Token toward the Nameless Swordsman, but Wax Statue killed him before he could deliver it, prompting him to report the growing number of Restless Ones to Nanjō Emi.
• Uesugi Tetsu and Ririko joined Shizuma Mafuyu on a spirit-hunting assignment, where they fought a Nue and Uesugi Tetsu killed it after rescuing a boy from its hiding place.
• Uesugi Tetsu gained the Vortex talent from the Heart of the Nue and learned that the Demon Guiding Society was led by powerful beings called Supreme Lords.
• Uesugi Tetsu drew a Three-tailed Fox incarnation, advanced Laughing Brahma into White Brahma, and learned that the Onmyo Bureau considered friendship with demons treason as authorities prepared for the First Wave.
• Ten days later, Uesugi Tetsu woke Ririko and told her she had slept through the First Wave, and she grabbed him by the collar.
