Nitotip's entry into the battle took everyone by surprise.
Not only the wizards on the floating ice, nor Sanders and Angel—even Orucia himself, at the heart of it all, was deeply puzzled.
Orucia turned back to see a figure slowly emerging from the edge of the Void Giant Tower. Nitotip held an umbrella, while the enormous tentacles beneath her splendid skirt climbed up the tower wall. Upon reaching the top, the tentacles flexed and sprang, sending Nitotip drifting leisurely to his side like an inflated jellyfish.
Nitotip's appearance, along with the drifting rainclouds, forced the wizards who had been besieging Orucia to retreat.
Now, beneath the cover of the rainclouds, only Orucia and Nitotip remained.
"Why did you come?" Orucia did not look at Nitotip. He simply turned and flew back to the tower's summit, lowering his voice to ask as he passed her.
Once Orucia landed atop the tower, Tandin immediately stepped forward. "Lord Orucia, are you all right?"
Orucia shook his head and casually patted Grewu on the head. "Don't worry. They can't hurt me."
Grewu curiously watched Nitotip floating in the distant sky. "My lord, why did Nitotip come?"
"She naturally has her reasons. Perhaps for profit, perhaps driven here by outside pressure." After saying this, Orucia raised his head and quietly looked at Nitotip.
"Pitter-patter—"
A fine rain fell from the dark clouds, striking the umbrella with crisp sounds. Like dancing notes, it brought a trace of interest to that stifling, oppressive moment.
Nitotip did not turn around. She merely tilted her face slightly, and the curtain of rain woven from soft drizzle gave her brows and eyes a particularly enchanting air.
