As Angel stood there dazed, a low, hoarse male voice reached his ears through the glowing blood bead in his hand.
Angel hesitated for a moment before softly saying, "Mentor."
This blood bead, which had given him warm strength in his dream, was precisely the essence blood Sanders had left him. And for Sanders' voice to travel through the bead meant that Sanders was currently very close by—
For instance, outside Ice Valley.
After exchanging a few brief words, Angel rose to his feet, preparing to meet Sanders outside Ice Valley.
The time displayed on the Holographic Tablet showed that he had been unconscious for half the night. Nothing around him had changed since before he fell asleep. Toby was also lying unconscious on the table, just as he had been yesterday.
Yet when Angel looked at Toby, he thought of last night's dream.
Without question, it was the flood of information brought out of Toby's dream that had caused him to have that terrifying dream.
"What exactly happened to you?"
Sanders was currently standing on the trunk of a tree outside Ice Valley.
After returning to Sky Island and handling several follow-up matters concerning Lasudelan, he had immediately set off back to Ice Valley. Just moments ago, he had contacted Angel through the essence blood.
However, something about Angel's voice struck Sanders as strange.
It felt as though there was an echo layered over it.
Besides Angel's own voice, there had been another faint and peculiar sound. Dark and slick, it rustled and scraped, releasing a hissing sound from its throat.
Like... the cry of a snake.
Was it an illusion? Or had something gone wrong on Angel's end?
