At the dining table, Angel and Sanders ate in silence.

According to the customs of traditional nobility, there was a rule against speaking while eating food that required a knife or soup, to avoid the embarrassment of splashing food and liquid.

The main course of this meal was soup. As they ate, they were basically silent.

Angel ate to his heart's content. Though there were no dishes of magical-food grade, Butler Gude knew his appetite all too well. From appetizers to the main course, from thick soup to pastries, every item whetted his appetite. More importantly, everyone kept to themselves during the meal, and no one gave his eating habits more than a passing glance.

It was only when tea and desserts were served that conversation gradually began at the table.

It was mostly Sanders giving Butler Gude instructions about matters from this period, as well as some future arrangements.

Angel did not interrupt. He continued wolfing down the rich, milky dessert after the meal. Just as he was eating with great relish, he suddenly felt a gaze fixed tightly upon him.

He looked up and saw a head cautiously poking out from beside the drapery at the entrance to the dining room.

Though he wore a masked robe, Angel recognized him at a glance from the child's build. It was Huibidon.

Huibidon was secretly watching Angel.

Angel gestured for Huibidon to come over. Huibidon hesitated. According to Demon Illusion Island's dining etiquette, he was not allowed to enter at this time.

But Young Master Pat had told him to come in... Huibidon recalled what his great-grandfather had told him. Lord Sanders might not agree to let him remain on Demon Illusion Island, but he could try to break through the barrier by starting with Young Master Pat.
