Sanders told Angel what had happened in the hall through the Mind Tether.
Or rather, he replayed the recorded scenes within Angel's mind.
It turned out that he and White Bear had been gone for over half a quarter-hour, yet during that time, Dodolo and Bobota had exchanged only a handful of words.
"Who are you?" Dodolo was the first to break the silence.
Bobota gave his name. What followed was another long stretch of silence.
It was not until before Angel returned that Dodolo said, "We seem to share some kind of connection."
Upon hearing this, Bobota nodded heavily. Then, for some reason, his expression grew increasingly agitated. On the other side, Dodolo sank into thought, remaining so until Angel arrived.
When Angel returned to the hall, he clearly disrupted a certain delicate balance. The subtle atmosphere from before gradually dissipated. Dodolo also emerged from his thoughts and raised his head to look at Angel.
The atmosphere shifted from frozen to relaxed.
Angel sat across from Dodolo and took a sip of hot tea. "You seemed to be thinking about something just now?"
Dodolo smiled somewhat sheepishly. "I noticed something strange just now, so I didn't realize you had left. But thinking about it afterward, it probably wasn't anything important."
"Have you figured it out?"
"I have." Dodolo pointed at Bobota. "He should have some kind of special connection with me."
"What kind of connection?" From the corner of his eye, Angel glanced at Bobota standing off to one side. He could see that Bobota's exposed hand was clenched into a fist, as though he were nervous.
Dodolo turned his head and looked at Bobota with suspicion. "He seems to be one of my descendants?"

Angel abruptly covered his mouth. That answer was simply too brilliant—he had nearly
