This was an exceedingly strange door. It looked hazy and indistinct, as though it had been formed from a cloud-and-mist illusion, yet it had actually carried Angel away through space?
Was this a spatial technique? Or an illusion?
Just as shock and confusion showed in Sanders's eyes, several white tentacles suddenly appeared behind him.
He spun around sharply and saw that, not far behind him, an identical cloud-and-mist door had opened. Angel's figure emerged from it alongside the white tentacles.
The white tentacles began to intertwine and split apart, like a spider weaving its web. In almost an instant, Sanders was trapped within the cage they had woven.
Angel stepped out and looked at Sanders imprisoned in the cage, unable to keep from grinning smugly. "This time, I won!"
Sanders had still been wondering what sort of trick Angel had used. Hearing Angel's laughter, he slowly raised his head, and right before Angel's eyes, his form gradually changed...
In the end, he transformed into a fine steed wreathed in black flames, rearing skyward with a long neigh.
This was an abyssal Blackfire Nightmare.
Angel froze. Looking at the Nightmare in the cage, he said in disbelief, "A Nightmare Substitute? How is that possible... Wasn't your attack just now made with your real body, but with a Nightmare Substitute?"
"That's right." A faint voice came from high above.
Angel looked up and saw Sanders floating in the air. Beneath the black short staff in his hand, a bizarre formation-pattern diagram had clearly appeared.
Holding the short staff, Sanders lightly tapped the empty air. The pattern diagram immediately contracted, and the Nightmare trapped in Angel's cage vanished along with it.
It really was a Nightmare Substitute!
Angel glared at Sanders, whose face was full of smug satisfaction, his teeth itching with frustration.
