Angel had no idea that news of his breakthrough was gradually spreading through the outside world aboard the departing Sky Ghost Ship. Within Black Castle, his breakthrough had long since become the focus of countless discussions.
Yet Angel himself had vanished from everyone's sight for a full two days.
During those two days, Angel remained in the meditation chamber within the Soul Domain, gradually adapting to the new changes in his body, both inside and out.
This adjustment was a process every wizard had to undergo after a breakthrough.
First, it allowed the magic vortex to continue operating without outside interference. After all, the nature of the energy produced by the magic vortex now, as well as its recovery speed, was far beyond what his former magic source could compare to. Angel needed time to adapt—not merely to familiarize himself with the magic vortex, but also to let it achieve a more harmonious balance within his mindspace.
Second, Angel could use this period to settle his heart and mind, avoiding any impairment to his judgment caused by the excessive excitement following his advancement or by his suddenly immense power.
Sorting through one's emotions and calming one's heart was, in truth, even more important than the first point.
The duration of this adjustment process varied from person to person. Some might need ten days or half a month, while others could achieve it quickly. Angel belonged to the latter group. Though his style leaned toward the academic school, in terms of character, he was very similar to Sanders: an exceptionally self-disciplined person.
He could sense exactly how much stronger he had become. Yet precisely because his power had grown stronger, he became even more disciplined. He knew very well that power existed to serve people, not to turn people into prisoners
