After Angel finished reading the report, he wore the exact same strange expression as Sanders. The reason lay at the very bottom of the report, where a red annotation read—Rumor.
Judging by the handwriting, Frod had personally written it.
In other words, Frod had already confirmed that the contents of this report were false. But why had Frod's cuff brought it to this particular page?
Could it be that turning to this page had been purely accidental, and not influenced by the Lucky Scroll at all?
Though Angel suspected it might be a coincidence, he did not dare jump to conclusions. After all, no one could say for certain how the Lucky Scroll's power worked.
Angel said to Frod, "Tell us about this report."
Frod had finished reading the report as well. His eyes held the same confusion. After thinking back for a moment, he said, "The Strange Affairs Group submitted this report to me a month ago. I remember that on the third day after it was submitted, when the deputy leader of the Strange Affairs Group discussed the latest anomalous incidents with me, he specifically mentioned it and insisted that it was a rumor."
"The other Strange Affairs Group members involved in the investigation also said it was false, so I gave it the annotation 'Rumor.'"
"You mean," Angel said, "you did not personally handle this matter?"
Frod nodded. "That's right. Generally speaking, when the Strange Affairs Group discovers an anomalous incident, they report it to me immediately while initiating the investigation process. Their investigation is the first round of screening. If they uncover the truth, I do not pursue it further and instead focus my attention on incidents that yield no results."
And clearly, this report was one in which the Strange Affairs Group members had determined
