Although Angel could use Green Pattern to protect himself, just in case, he still prepared several defensive leather scrolls. Moreover, unlike the ones previously given to the control group, all the scrolls he used were of quite a high grade.
These high-grade scrolls had all been dug out of Sanders's collection. In any case, they would only be expended in Dream Wilderness, which had nothing to do with reality.
Most importantly, at present, Angel was the only one in Dream Wilderness who could use these high-grade scrolls. Using them required energy as a catalyst, and no one else could yet wield enough energy to activate them.
Once he was ready, Angel activated a leather scroll—Advanced Defense Spell. A circular barrier immediately appeared around him. The barrier was colorless, yet utterly out of place with the surrounding space. To the naked eye, the distorted air was clearly visible.
"Be careful once you're inside," Sanders reminded him.
Angel nodded to Sanders, then strode forward without looking back. In the end, the roiling black mist completely swallowed him.
Once Angel entered the black mist, he felt as though he had plunged into a black pond. Yet this black pond was not filled with water, but with a strange kind of power.
Angel stretched out a hand and tried to grasp that strange power, but failed. Yet in the process, he could sense that this power was everywhere, like air, permeating the entire black mist.
He calmed himself and carefully felt it out.
He could not determine the nature of the power, but it carried a faintly gloomy and negative sensation.
It was very unfamiliar, yet somehow also strangely familiar.
As Angel carefully sensed it, the black mist around him began to change. Just like the situation Angel had observed with the control group
