After Angel returned to reality from the Dream Wilderness, he came to the entrance of the ruins.
Before long, a dark figure appeared in midair. Accompanied by a sharp fluttering sound, a handsome nobleman wearing a short hat and holding a short staff descended from the sky.
"Mentor," Angel called respectfully.
The newcomer was Sanders. He nodded to Angel, casually removed his cloak, and tucked it into the button on his sleeve. Then he turned to look around, his gaze finally settling on a spot to the right of the ruins' entrance.
To the naked eye, there was nothing unusual there. But in Sanders' eyes, faint traces of illusion could be detected.
"The illusion node is hidden quite well," Sanders said casually. Then, with a light snap of his fingers, a completely opposing illusion node shot into that tranquil patch of ground.
Space twisted, and where there had been nothing before, a lush, flourishing tree suddenly appeared.
Surprise flickered in Angel's eyes as he watched Sanders' series of actions. He was not surprised that Sanders could discover the place concealed by the illusion—after all, Sanders was the true master of illusion.
But Sanders had reverse-analyzed the illusion node without triggering Angel's illusionary counterattack, then concealed the original node. That ability truly shocked Angel.
Though the Tree Spirit's incarnation had now appeared, Angel's illusion had not actually been broken. Sanders had merely covered it with an even more powerful illusion.
