"Your bird certainly sleeps deeply."

Rhein's gaze turned to a bookshelf near them. On the otherwise empty shelf sat a miniature wooden bed. Though pink lace curtains obscured the view, Rhein could still see that lying on it was Angel's unusual little seabird—Toby.

Earlier, when they had entered the study, the little bed had been on the desk. As soon as Angel came in, he had moved it onto the bookshelf, saying he was afraid Toby would disturb them.

But Rhein could tell that what Angel really meant was probably that he was afraid they would disturb Toby.

At first, Rhein had not paid Toby any attention. But they had talked for most of the day without any concealment, and had even used a few spells earlier. Energy ripples had continuously spread through the room, yet the seabird had never awakened. That made Rhein a little curious.

"He's merely immersed in a beautiful dream he wove and doesn't want to wake up," Angel said.

"Oh?" Rhein seemed to think of something. "You mean he's been affected by a dream-type ability."

"Mm." Angel nodded. Dream Wilderness could probably be considered somewhat related to dream-type abilities... even barely related still counted.

"Speaking of which, I heard Sanders has also recently begun cultivating the art of Entering Dreams. How did the two of you, master and disciple, both cross disciplines into the dream-type?" Rhein asked curiously. He was not overthinking it; he was simply curious.

"Angel proposed several research topics concerning illusion and dreams, and I found them quite interesting. So I joined the research as well." Sanders simply attributed his study of dream-type cantrips to Angel's research topic. Though that was somewhat different from the truth, it was not too far off.
