With one step forward, the view before them suddenly opened up. The small hill of shattered stones they had seen before was now gone. As though they had crossed into another world, what appeared before them now was a shallow pool.
The pool was very shallow, probably only deep enough to cover the insteps. Yet the water reflected light even more clearly than the Falling Star Sea outside.
The starry sky overhead was perfectly reflected in this pool, several hundred meters across.
Angel stepped into the pool, as though he were truly walking upon a sea of stars. With every step, the ripples he stirred shattered one shimmering star after another.
The rings of ripples stretched all the way to one side of the pool.
A small pavilion resembling an observatory stood upon the sea of stars. It had no walls, only twelve slender pillars holding it up. Looking through the gaps between the thin pillars carved with magical patterns, one could see several figures standing motionless inside.
Among them, Rhein stood at the center of the pavilion, while Sanders stood at its edge. At that moment, he turned his head, his deep eyes looking over. The starry sky above was reflected in his gaze, making it shine brilliantly.
"You're here." Sanders did not ask about anything else. With a slight nod, he led Angel into the pavilion.
It had not been very clear from outside, but upon entering this pavilion, Angel discovered that its interior was extraordinarily luxurious. Star patterns were carved everywhere, carrying the lavish romance of ancient astrologers.
Aside from Sanders and Rhein, there were two other wizards in the pavilion: Feiluo the "Firewalker," and Nis of "Necromancer's Redemption." Angel had dealt with both of them before. The former had once been a stationed wizard in Sleepless
