The openings in the surrounding walls had all regained their light. The people of Windmill Town had survived the Living Threads disaster and resumed their work. Large numbers of merchants pushed carts laden with goods to the Mirror World, waiting for its gates to open so they could enter and trade with the extraordinary beings within.
The appearance of Angel and Sanders drew sidelong glances from some of the humans living beneath the earth. But once they guessed that the two were extraordinary beings, they lowered their heads and did not dare look again.
