Angel found Lord Rhein in the Radiant Church.
When he saw Lord Rhein, the man was quietly gazing at the stained-glass window directly before the church. There was nothing unusual about the window, yet his eyes did not move, as though he were looking through the window, where the first rays of dawn glimmered, at another scene entirely.
It was not until Angel's footsteps echoed through the solemn, empty church that Rhein lowered his head and slowly came back to himself.
"Lord Rhein." Angel walked to Rhein's side and called softly.
Rhein turned around. The solemnity he had worn while staring at the stained glass was gone, replaced by a faint smile. "You're here. The Tree Spirit just told me Sanders came in as well. How are things on his end?"
Although Rhein appeared relaxed, Angel could see from his eyes that the emotions beneath that calm expression had yet to fade.
Out of the corner of his eye, Angel noticed an open book lying on the table before Rhein. It was Kulori's Chronicle XIV, the book he had created with illusion... Was Rhein's unusual mood perhaps because he had learned of Aldrich?
But was news of Aldrich enough to make Rhein so emotional?
Angel did not understand the relationship between Aldrich and Rhein, and it was not his place to ask. He could only follow Rhein's lead and reply, "My mentor is fine. He just left the Chaotic Sky Market."
Rhein asked, "Did he meet Su Mishi and Flora?"
Angel shook his head. "Not yet. It should be soon."
After a pause, Angel added, "My mentor came in this time because he learned something at the Chaotic Sky Market and came specifically to tell me."
