The envelope was a thick stack.
The silver wax seal bore the crest of the Silver Heron Royal Family.
After breaking the seal, Angel took a stack of parchment from the leather envelope. It was called thin parchment, but compared to pulp paper, it was still far thicker.
"As expected of royal style." Angel raised an eyebrow.
The moment Frod saw that stack of parchment, he understood why Angel had suddenly said that.
Since they had chosen a leather envelope, which better represented nobility, they naturally had to put parchment inside. A leather envelope plus parchment—it was no wonder the letter was so thick.
This was the typical manner of traditional aristocrats: formality outweighed everything.
Frod knew Angel well. Though Angel had been born into nobility, he held considerable disdain for the ceremonial fuss of the aristocratic class. Dru's noble affectations did not please Angel at all.
If it had been Angel's mentor, Sanders, he might have been more receptive to such an arrangement.
Angel unfolded the soft, skin-friendly parchment, and a mass of writing immediately leaped into view.
He spent several minutes reading it.
After pondering for a few seconds, Angel handed the parchment to Frod.
Frod gave it a rough read and found that the letter's contents were mostly nonsense. Most of it recorded how the Royal Knights had investigated and verified matters, how many relevant people they had sought out, and how they had finally, "by a fortunate coincidence," obtained a clue from a sea merchant.
That too was a typical exercise in formality.
However, setting aside all the nonsense at the start, the clue itself was quite valuable.
It pointed to the emblem on the leather boots of the mastermind in the first scene revealed by Dodolo.
According to information the front-line knights had obtained from
