After discovering the illusion node, the Fire-Scaled Familiar froze for a second or two, then let out a loud "Wah-wah!" and jumped around on the spot in a huff.

After sulking for quite a while, the Fire-Scaled Familiar began doing things that looked random but were actually attempts to escape—burning the nodes, or crashing wildly into its surroundings in an effort to break out of the illusion. None of it worked. In the end, the Fire-Scaled Familiar turned a vicious glare on Angel.

After another burst of incomprehensible "Wah-yah!" cries, the Fire-Scaled Familiar seemed to gather its courage several seconds later. Clenching its flaming spear, it charged fiercely at Angel.

Its recklessness was only the beginning. When it reached Angel, it abruptly changed tactics.

Taking advantage of Angel's inattention, it planted its fire spear into the ground. Sparks surged into the sky, like a deluge of flames splashing across his face and blocking his vision.

A loud shout rang out from above. Angel looked up and saw the Fire-Scaled Familiar leaping high into the air, swinging its spear down at his head.

With a casual sweep, Angel knocked away the flaming spear overhead. But as he raised his hand, another figure rushed out from the sea of sparks. A Fire-Scaled Familiar brandished its spear and stabbed toward Angel's chest.

A downward slash from above and a thrust through the middle came almost simultaneously. Angel dealt with the one above, but had no choice but to neglect the front.

Just as the Fire-Scaled Familiar was about to succeed, a tentacle-like Phantom Limb made of white mist blocked the spear in the middle. Carrying piercing force, it instead plunged into the Fire-Scaled Familiar's chest.
