In the silent corridor, Angel strode resolutely in one direction.
"Are we going to find that strange patch of mist?" Dangros had climbed back onto Blood Night's Shelter and asked Angel curiously.
Angel said, "No, we'll go to No. 02's room first."
"We're not going to deal with that mist?" Dangros continued.
But Angel did not answer, because he had already reached his destination.
This was still a long corridor. At first glance, there was nothing especially remarkable about it. The only difference from the other areas was that the nearest glowing ceiling lamp was over ten meters away, leaving this place somewhat dim. Still, it was not so dark that one could not see the path—at most, the shadows cast by the walls on either side were somewhat enlarged.
If one was not paying attention, one might easily overlook this dimly lit area. But through his observations from the main control node, Angel knew perfectly well that the door to No. 02's room was actually concealed within the shadows.
Angel stepped directly toward the shadowed wall. His whole body seemed to melt into the darkness, vanishing from the corridor.
After Angel's figure disappeared, a tiny gleam suddenly rose from some corner of the shadowy area. It silently watched the spot where Angel had vanished. From the frequency of its flickering, it seemed reluctant, as though it wanted to follow him.
But in the end, the speck of starlight did not advance. Instead, it drifted toward the other end of the corridor and blended with the other gleams.
On the other side, the moment Angel entered the shadows, the scene around him changed. What appeared before him was a corridor even dimmer than the one outside.
