The commotion in the corridor grew louder and louder. Dust and parts rained down everywhere, and from time to time the space itself flipped, turning even the ceiling into a walkway.
At first glance, it looked as though the laboratory was about to collapse.
At first, Angel had thought something had gone wrong outside the laboratory. If the shaking continued, the interior would probably not hold out for long before collapsing. But he quickly dismissed that notion, because he noticed a detail he had previously overlooked: despite the tremendous disturbance inside the laboratory, and even though some energy conduits had shattered, the magic energy arrays themselves had not been affected in the slightest.
The main body was still operating perfectly. The trap corridors had not malfunctioned because of the internal tremors either.
Normally, such a huge disturbance could not possibly leave the magic energy arrays entirely unaffected. Yet the arrays were completely fine, which could only mean one thing: the current upheaval itself was within the scope permitted by the magic energy arrays.
Thinking of how the Inspector had clearly pointed out not long ago that No. 01 was conducting certain experiments outside in order to kill the Shiz larva, perhaps the current tremors were connected to what No. 01 was doing.
But Angel could not yet determine exactly what it was. Perhaps he might discover something by going to the main control node and examining the magic energy arrays there, but now was clearly not the time to head for the main control node.
Suppressing the speculation in his heart, Angel continued sprinting toward the exit.
