At this point, Black Earl's voice suddenly turned a little strange. "Oh, right. You haven't met that old fellow Rhein's daughter, have you?"
Angel knew a little about Lord Rhein's daughter. It could be said that she was an indelible scar buried deep in Lord Rhein's heart.
This was, after all, an internal matter of Savage Cave. Angel did not want to discuss it too much before outsiders. "I met her a few times, but she isn't today's focus."
Angel's reluctance to discuss the matter was already obvious, but Black Earl seemed not to have heard him and continued, "You met Samantha? Could it be that Samantha still couldn't forget her mentor, went looking for him, and you happened to run into her?"
"Tsk, tsk. What a pity. If Samantha hadn't betrayed Savage Cave, she might have become your master's wife by now."
Black Earl had said only two short sentences, yet they revealed that "Samantha seemed to have had an ambiguous relationship with Sanders," that "Samantha had betrayed Savage Cave," and, most importantly, that Samantha was the daughter of Lord Rhein, Savage Cave's current ruler.
This was not much of a secret among the upper echelons of major organizations, but to the two apprentices present, as well as Dox, it was absolutely sensational insider gossip.
Angel did not even need to turn around to guess that the ears of the people behind him were probably standing tall, eager to hear more gossip.
"Lord Samantha's affairs are matters between elders. I am not qualified to comment. If Lord Black Earl has any insightful opinions, you may as well say them. I'll relay them word for word to Lord Rhein. Perhaps the two of you will find your hearts and minds perfectly aligned."
