"Why don't we take a detour?" Wai said.
"A detour? How are we supposed to detour if it hides itself?" Dox mocked. "The prerequisite for taking a detour is finding it. We still don't know what its hiding ability is, so exactly how to carry it out is completely unclear. Even if we can find it, what if the Nether Servant hides on the route we have no choice but to take—say, right outside Wise Sovereign's Hall? How would we detour then?"
Though Wai dearly wanted to refute him, he had to admit that Dox's scenario was possible—and very likely.
If 'she' truly intended to deal with them, how could she leave such a glaring flaw? She would never give them a chance to take a detour. Wherever the Nether Servant occupied would absolutely be a passage they could not avoid.
Angel added at that moment, "As far as I know, there are side paths on the way to Wise Sovereign's Hall, but they're all dead ends. There's only one route to the hall."
In other words, taking a detour was impossible.
The group fell silent again. They could neither deal with the Nether Servant nor avoid confronting this bizarre creature, and they could not even take a detour. They were genuinely in a difficult spot now.
"Only one route, but there are side paths along the way?" Black Earl suddenly spoke.
"Yes." Angel nodded and recalled his earlier experience in Abyss City of the Nightmare Realm. "There should only be one fork. As for whether it's a three-way intersection or a crossroads, I don't know."
In truth, Angel did know what that fork was like. After all, he had once been chased all the way through it by the Nightmare Realm projection of the young Sanders.
But he could
