After returning to Heart Space, Laplace glanced at Angel and said softly, "You're quite cautious. Still, this is good. To a certain extent, it prevents intruders from entering Heart Space through the mirror passage."
Angel said, "I hadn't thought that much about it. I simply felt that opening a door in that place wasn't very appropriate."
Half a minute ago, just as Angel was preparing to leave the buffer space, he had done two things. First, he had left the Wishbook and Gem Teapot in the buffer space; after all, the buffer space could serve as a temporary storage room. Second, he had set up an illusion at the entrance between the buffer space and the mirror passage.
If one looked from within the buffer space now, one would discover that the entire buffer space had only one door left. It was the mirror door leading from Chacha Mirror into the buffer space.
All the other entrances and exits had vanished.
Or rather, concealed by the Nightmare Illusion, they had become walls of stark white.
Because the Nightmare Illusion's effect was nearly lifelike, ordinary people simply could not tell that there was still a passage in the wall. Even if they knew there was a passage, they still could not enter Heart Space unless they could break through the Nightmare Illusion.
In Laplace's view, this arrangement was a display of caution.
However, Angel had not considered so much. He had merely wanted the buffer space's layout to feel cohesive—in other words, the decorating style needed to be consistent. With that in mind, the door to the mirror passage seemed somewhat abrupt, so Angel had simply hidden it.
In any case, it did not matter to him whether the door could be seen or not.
Laplace said, "Let's put the buffer
