Lip-reading was generally not much of a skill.
But that depended on the circumstances.
The Day Mirror Domain was home to a sea of countless races, including humanoid forms, beast forms, bizarre forms... even gaseous forms. With so many differently shaped races, even if they spoke the same language, their sound-producing organs differed, and the lip movements they displayed were utterly different as well.
For example, there was a type of serpentine person that produced sound through the microwaves generated when it flicked its tongue through the air.
And among different serpentine people, their differing sizes and tongue lengths changed the location from which those microwaves were emitted.
Ordinary people truly could not read the lip movements they used.
Even if Laplace were asked to do it, it would probably make his head feel twice as big.
Yet Angel had clearly seen more than one investigator and staff member in the All Things House watching the serpentine person's presentation, and watching with great interest. That meant they had most likely understood the serpentine person's lip-reading.
It had to be said that the investigators and staff of the All Things House were exceptionally professional.
This detail alone showed that when it came to gathering intelligence, the All Things House was absolutely the leading force in the Day Mirror Domain.
As Angel marveled, a tall, slender man in a burgundy tailcoat seemed to notice his gaze and turned to look at them.
Judging from his uniform, he should have been a staff member from the Affairs Hall.
He hesitated, seemingly trying to determine whether Angel and the others were clients. A few seconds later, he reluctantly tore himself away from the splendid program at the side display stage and strode toward them, smiling as he asked whether they needed any help.
