After the idle chatter, the little interlude between acts passed as well.
Butler Fan returned to the dining hall carrying a covered platter.
"Eh, where is Lady Mollyan?" Butler Fan looked at the empty seat by the table in confusion.
Just as Angel was about to answer, the crisp click of high heels came from the corridor beside them.
Mollyan, her skirts swaying, walked in with elegant steps. As she passed Butler Fan, she said lightly, "I went to have a look at the text-flower plants in the garden. The scent was not bad. But compared with the Demon-Eating Flower King's Saliva scent Mr. Angel created before, it still fell short by a fair margin."
As Mollyan took her seat, she even nodded at Angel from afar, seemingly affirming his creation.
Yet Angel felt that Mollyan's gaze was laden with deeper meaning, as though she were hinting at what he had done?
Perhaps, just as Laplace had said, Mollyan had guessed some of his maneuvers?
Angel lowered his eyes without showing any unusual expression. Even if she had truly guessed it, it was not a big deal... Besides, since Mollyan had chosen not to expose him, that could be considered a form of tacit approval.
Butler Fan did not know what was on Angel's mind. Once he saw Mollyan seated, he said, "Next comes dessert. Evikato has left an after-dinner dessert for everyone. I hope you will enjoy it."
As his words fell, Butler Fan lifted the cover from the platter, revealing the so-called "dessert" within.
They were... three bottles of wine.
The bottles were not large, roughly the size of an infant's arm.
Through the clear glass, they could see that they were filled to the brim with red liquid.
Some kind of "red wine"?
