"Last one." Angel rubbed his throbbing temples and looked at the Sacred Corpse Crystal in his hand.
Pulling people in did not take much effort, but locating the sleeping souls within the Sacred Corpse Crystal was exceedingly draining.
The fluctuations of these souls were simply too faint. Relying on Angel's mental control alone, it was very difficult to pinpoint where they were.
It could be understood this way: these soul fluctuations were on a cellular scale.
Angel's mental control, meanwhile, was on the scale of the naked eye.
Trying to find infinitesimal cells with only the naked eye was extremely, extremely difficult. A "microscope" was necessary, and Laplace was currently serving as that microscope. He marked out the range, while Angel carried out the fine operation.
Even with Laplace helping him locate them, Angel still had to capture the soul fluctuations himself. Every time, he had to refine his mental power again and again before he could barely find the fluctuation.
The process was immensely taxing on the mind.
And he had to perform the operation three hundred times in succession. Even if Angel had been made of iron, he was beginning to falter by now.
Fortunately, only the last one remained.
Angel handed the Sacred Corpse Crystal to Laplace, forced himself to rally, and looked at the crystal-cluster screen.
"This last one is named Dida. Looks like she was a woman... She entered slumber in Crystal Calendar Year 545 and was a renowned musician..." Seeing this, Angel only felt his already swollen mind grow even dizzier. "The first batch is supposed to focus on construction. What do we need a musician for?"
Although Laplace was currently locating Dida's soul, his mental power was far greater than Angel's. He did not find it burdensome at all and could respond to
