Silver Forest Space, beside the Black Forest.
The temporarily constructed Illusion Library was still brightly lit. Even from far away, Angel could see figures moving around near the library windows.
Barring any surprises, Laplace's many energy avatars were all studying late into the night in the library.
Angel had no intention of peeking in. Once he confirmed that everything was well with the library, he turned his gaze toward Edward's hair and makeup shop.
After a night had passed, Edward seemed to have familiarized himself with the shop's environment and had begun working on wigmaking.
However, wigmaking involved many steps.
Edward was currently completing one of them: making a head mold.
With great seriousness, Edward used plaster, white wax, bright flexible rubber, along with carving knives, pigments, brushes... to make a model of a head.
The entire process was done by hand, without involving any extraordinary power whatsoever.
Watching Edward make the head mold reminded Angel of some alchemists who had gone to study at mortal Arts Academies.
They learned sculpture, painting, design, color blending, aesthetics...
These alchemists, who could patiently study under mortal masters, generally never used extraordinary power during their studies.
Instead, they did everything with their own hands.
For example, to carve a statue as large as a small mountain, extraordinary power could finish the task in an instant, yet they refused to do so. Instead, they took up hammers, iron chisels, and carving knives, carving bit by bit. Even if the statue took them months, or even years, they would not hesitate, devoting themselves wholly to polishing it little by little.
It was not that they could not use extraordinary power, but that they were unwilling to.
Compared to a statue completed in one stroke through extraordinary power,
they enjoyed far more the kind of statue
