Square Mirror Space.

The moment Angel opened his eyes, he saw that the classroom door had been pushed open a crack. A figure stood outside, craning her neck to peer in.

There were only two occupants in Square Mirror Space—or rather, one person and one spirit.

The person was Angel; the spirit was Kesha, the soul of a Lairen.

So there was no doubt that the one peeking through the door was Kesha.

Angel looked over and met Kesha's eyes through the crack. She jumped, ducked to one side, and hid her head like an ostrich.

But before long, she cautiously poked her head out again. She knew Angel had seen her; it was too late to hide now.

She eased the door open a little and gave Angel an embarrassed wave. "I..."

"I just wanted to see how far you'd gotten..."

Angel had yet to call her over to test the magic patterns. In a moment of muddled thinking, she had decided to sneak a look at his progress, only to discover that he wasn't "working" at all—he had been sleeping.

Seeing Kesha's awkward expression, Angel could guess what she was thinking. He smiled and stood. "A little rest, a little work. That's a balance of work and rest."

As he spoke, Angel walked toward her.

Kesha flinched, thinking he had come to punish her for spying without cause. But while she trembled, Angel simply passed her and went outside.

"I'm going out to take care of something. I'll be back in a while."

Kesha: "Huh?"

Silver Forest Space, by the lake near Black Forest.

Angel intended to talk to Laplace about Mr. Sun and Ms. Moon.

As far as he knew, Laplace usually fished by the lake. Today, though, she sat at a tea table sipping tea.
