Angel got off in the West Eighth District.
As he headed toward the Underground District corresponding to this area, Angel cast his God's-eye view toward Gleipnir.
What a coincidence—Gleipnir had just entered the Underground District as well. In terms of straight-line distance, they were less than two hundred meters apart.
What surprised Angel, however, was that Gleipnir was alone. Star Worm had not come with her.
Angel shifted his gaze and swept his eyes across Modern City, only to discover that Star Worm was currently in a residential complex near Prada Media Company.
He was not alone, but following behind Kaushike.
They hurried along the entire way without either of them speaking.
For a moment, Angel had no idea what had happened.
After thinking it over, Angel temporarily withdrew his gaze and decided to meet up with Gleipnir first. Perhaps she knew what was going on.
Angel picked up his pace and, invisible, entered a nearby factory.
There was a privately built passage inside this factory that led directly to the vicinity of Eighth Town.
Since it was a private passage, Angel remained invisible the whole way to avoid drawing attention. No one discovered him, and he soon reached the Underground District.
He even arrived at the underground cliff where Eighth Town stood a step ahead of Gleipnir.
Beyond the cliff wall lay an enormous cavern.
This cavern had once been a reservoir, but pollution later appeared. The Flame Knight of the Dark Round Table came here and evaporated the wastewater, after which the Wandering House remodeled the place into what was now Eighth Town.
Though this was his second visit, looking down from the cliff wall at the layered buildings within the cavern, the floating advertising airships, and the neon lights so thick with light pollution, Angel still felt
