"The Creator?"
Angel had heard the term more than once while Edward was talking. Until now, he had taken it for a figure of speech, or perhaps background lore for a pantheon.
But when Edward said descendants of the Creator were rumored to live in Evening Dream Cloud Harbor, Angel suddenly realized he might have misunderstood.
The Creator Edward spoke of was not an abstract concept, but a "god" who actually existed?
"The Creator is the deity who created the Instrument World." Edward paused and gave a slight shrug. "To the people who live there, the Creator might be an all-powerful god. To me, that's just a more powerful living being."
"And besides..."
Edward muttered, "As far as I'm concerned, whoever created the Dream Crystal Plain is a Creator too. And I don't think he's any less impressive than the one who made the Instrument World. At least on the Dream Crystal Plain, you don't have to worry about being offered up as a sacrifice."
His muttering left Angel feeling rather embarrassed.
If he had to put it that way, he barely qualified as the Creator of the Dream Crystal Plain.
But compared with the Creator of the Instrument World, he fell far short...
"So the Creator of the Instrument World really exists?" Angel asked. "And there really are descendants of the Creator in Evening Dream Cloud Harbor?"
"I've never met the Creator, but the Creator definitely exists," Edward said. "Wizard Ronan, the one who captured me and brought me into the Instrument World, might even know the Creator."
Why else would Ronan have helped the Creator capture people and bring them into the Instrument World?
There had to be some shared interest involved. Wizard Ronan might even be a follower of the Creator.
