At present, it seemed difficult to start with "personal favors" and win Liriel over, or make her change her stance.
Unless he could directly solve Liriel's problem.
And her problem was her students' lifespans.
Angel pondered for a moment. Solving the problem directly would be difficult, but solving it indirectly was easier. For instance, Dream Crystal Plain and Dream Wilderness could both provide an alternative form of life extension—but that was different from extending one's lifespan in reality.
Still, perhaps it could serve as a conversational strategy?
"Sir."
As Angel frowned in thought, Nomephins's voice suddenly rang out.
Angel looked over.
"You have remained motionless for seventeen minutes and thirty-four seconds. Is there some difficulty you cannot resolve?" Nomephins looked toward the two people in the Interrogation Labyrinth below. "If you are troubled by their affairs, perhaps you could speak with me. Through my authority over the Interrogation Labyrinth, I may be able to make certain arrangements for them?"
Angel had not intended to say anything, but after thinking it over, he slowly opened his mouth.
"Nomephins, if you were Cruel Scholar and discovered that several of your subordinates had inexplicably entered an unknown Strange Dream within your own territory, what would your first reaction be?"
Nomephins's enormous golden pupil flickered as it considered the question before replying:
"Based on my understanding of Cruel Scholar, They might feel... offended? Of course, They might also be curious."
Offended—this was not hard to understand.
An anomaly had appeared in Their own territory. As a god, They would certainly feel that Their authority had been overstepped, that They had been provoked.
As for curiosity, that was equally easy to infer. As a demon god who plundered knowledge, Cruel Scholar would be curious about all unknown things and would wish to investigate them.
