Angel paused. Then, under the curious gazes of the Sun and Moon Wizards, he slowly said, "Before I grant authorization, I'd like to set a few conditions with you two and Mr. Camilo."
A few conditions?
On the surface, Angel was asking Camilo for help. As the one making the request, he should not have been imposing conditions.
But everyone present except Blanche and Luigi understood that studying an inscription was one thing; being authorized to study it was another.
The former might be a small favor. The latter offered a real advantage.
And unless Angel revoked it, that advantage would last a lifetime.
Under those circumstances, the balance had shifted. It was only reasonable for Angel to set conditions.
Both the Sun and Moon Wizards and Camilo nodded their agreement.
They knew that authorization to use this inscription would give them a key to an entirely new inscription system, along with a chance to touch upon an unknown order of existence.
If they found even one previously unidentified identity in the inscription's associated identity database, the knowledge it contained would make the whole endeavor worthwhile.
They could not turn down such a rare opportunity.
"Of course. What conditions did you have in mind, Mr. Angel?" Ms. Moon blinked and teased him in a sweet voice. "I'm a girl, you know. Don't be too hard on me."

Caught between Ms. Moon's coquettish tone and Mr. Sun's watchful glare, Angel did not dare respond. He merely cleared his throat and said, "Don't worry. My request is simple."
"I said a few conditions, but there's actually only one."
"Once you've been authorized, I hope you'll share any progress you make in studying the inscription with me, without holding anything back. Of course, I mean only the inscription I authorize
