In the original timeline, T-Bone had still only been a Colonel at Marine Headquarters even at the age of fifty-one.
He had only been promoted to Rear Admiral after the Enies Lobby incident, then became a Vice Admiral during the 3D2Y period.
Unfortunately, he was ultimately betrayed and killed by civilians tempted by the bounty.
It sounded absurd. No matter what, a Vice Admiral should not have been able to be harmed by ordinary people.
Yet that was the truth.

Hearing Dragon's question, T-Bone answered without hesitation, "Director Black Horse and I have recently been watching developments concerning One Piece. We originally planned to report to you tomorrow, but since I'm here, I'll tell you now."
