A legendary treasure found throughout the Heavens and Myriad Worlds, it was the supreme jewel of alchemy and the ultimate material countless alchemists dreamed of obtaining.

Besides this name, it had many others.

Such as Red Elixir, Philosopher's Stone, Stone of Heaven, Grand Alchemical Panacea, Ultimate Red Substance, and even... the Fifth Entity.

According to historical records from the Alchemi Kingdom spanning over a thousand years,

it was an alchemical amplifier capable of disregarding the principle of "equivalent exchange" and refining any substance.

Or rather,

it could replace the price an alchemist would normally have to pay, allowing them to complete any transaction with the Gate of Truth, including forbidden ones.

As for the method of creating a Philosopher's Stone,

the historical records merely stated three unknowns: unknowable, cannot be known, need not be known.

Imu was amused by the explanation the Alchemi Kingdom had submitted along with the Philosopher's Stone. If they did not know how to make it, then where had this one come from?

And he did not believe that the Alchemi Kingdom, with its thousand-year foundation, possessed only a single Philosopher's Stone.

If that were truly the case,

they could not possibly have handed over their sole Philosopher's Stone to the World Government so easily.

In truth, this matter had originated with Imu.

When he had remembered that the Alchemi Kingdom possessed Philosopher's Stones, he had instructed the Five Elders to issue an order through the World Government demanding that they hand over several for research.

However, he had only wanted some fragments at the time. He had never expected to receive a complete, intact stone.
