The river was immensely broad, more than ten miles wide. Its waters were crimson red, and whenever the surging waves struck the shore, they immediately gave off a sizzling sound.
The scorching power within this river was even stronger than that of the sandy ground!
"This river does not seem naturally formed. Rather, it appears to be part of a grand formation. Junior brother, you might as well follow it downstream; something should turn up."
Luo Hong reminded him.
After nodding to himself, Han Li repeated Luo Hong's suggestion and led the group along the river's course.
This time, they traveled for less than three days before discovering a vast oasis.
Although most of the vegetation in the oasis was also crimson red, it was at least somewhat different from the endlessly uniform sands.
Without further comment, everyone immediately concealed their auras and headed deeper into the oasis.
However, not long after entering the dense forest, Fang Chan discovered a set of footprints. After examining them carefully, he said in a low voice:
"The footprints are fresh. It seems someone found this place before us."
"They may be from Puppet City. Be careful, everyone."
Han Li nodded and issued a reminder before continuing onward with the group.
Several shichen later, they emerged from the forest, and the view before them suddenly opened up to reveal a massive city!
Buildings rose throughout the city, their rooftops resembling enormous swords thrusting straight into the heavens. They were all crimson red as well.
The city gates stood half-open, allowing the group to enter with ease. Yet after searching around, they discovered that this damned place was utterly barren, without a single valuable item.
Of course, they also found traces of the earlier group's search.
But clearly, those people had not gained much either.
