Arc 6The Titan War

William’s forces contained the Marker anomaly, tested the God Bodies, and confronted Athena’s warning that Cronus and the Titans would escape. The allied forces launched a massive Antarctic battle, but Ghidorah’s regeneration and the unexpectedly smooth progress left William wary.

  • Michel led eighteen paratroopers to secure the Evil God, who told William’s investigators that it had become the unwilling object of a cult’s worship after transforming.
  • William visited Minos Island as Halsey and the Spartans tested their completed God Bodies, which destroyed target ships and aircraft and survived a drone assault.
  • Hicks, Hudson, and Gina discovered the Marker on FJ336 and fought its mutated creatures until Victor’s support force arrived.
  • Umbrella sealed the colony, punished Chief Corporation, and promoted Hicks’s squad to the Guardians as William traveled aboard the Phantom to Mars.
  • William toured Mars City with the Spartans until the system warned of an approaching anomaly and gave him the clue “Athens.”
  • William met Athena, learned that Cronus and the Titans would escape Tartarus within seven days, and recruited her after she signed Umbrella’s Confidentiality Agreement.
  • William told world leaders that Cronus would emerge in Antarctica, then assembled Umbrella and allied forces for the battle and positioned Athena and the God Bodies at the front.
  • William ordered a forty-million-ton hydrogen bomb detonated, killing several Titans, and Athena, the Spartans, and the fleet attacked the survivors as Ghidorah began regenerating.
Chapters 128–152 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 128FuckoffCult

Michel and the Umbrella Corporation paratroopers secured the cooperative Evil God, whose influence could not affect company employees. The chapter ends with its containment profile and interrogation record identifying it as a transformed former human who wanted to be left alone to play games.

  • William told Michel that the Evil God's influence could not affect Umbrella Corporation employees and authorized its containment.
  • Michel led eighteen paratroopers up to the platform, where the Evil God surrendered without resistance.
  • A paratrooper reported that the Evil God had been secured, and Serena said a Pelican carrying technical personnel would arrive in ten minutes.
  • The containment file described how the entity's influence caused humans to worship it, form Praise the Darkness, and undergo mutations, while noting its requests for fast food and an Xbox were approved.
  • During an interrogation, the Evil God said it had once lived in Delberg Town, Utah, and had become a cult's unwilling object of worship after transforming.

Ch. 129This Was the Real "God"

William left the Fire Spirit for Minos Island to see Halsey’s completed God Bodies, built for the fourteen Spartans. He arrived at the underground facility and saw the towering machines for the first time, where Halsey welcomed him.

  • William reviewed the file on the contained FuckoffCult God and reflected on the danger it posed and Umbrella’s safeguards.
  • William flew to Minos Island to witness the Spartans’ first test of their completed God Bodies.
  • During the journey, William told Serena to continue overseeing Umbrella and said her work was the best birthday gift he could ask for.
  • William, Hunk, and the Alpha agents descended into the underground facility and saw fourteen armored God Bodies standing in a row.
  • Halsey greeted William as he admired the God Bodies and turned to face her.

Ch. 130Testing

William and Halsey examined the fourteen Spartan-derived Bio-Mecha, then the Spartans prepared to pilot them. John entered his God Body with Cortana assisting him, as the test began.

  • Halsey explained that each Bio-Mecha inherited its Spartan pilot’s traits and that John’s was the most balanced, while Jerome’s ranked second overall.
  • The fourteen Spartans dressed in neural-sensor suits, and John ordered Mylon to stop talking before leading the group to their machines.
  • The Spartans boarded their respective insertion plugs, which carried them into the Bio-Mecha.
  • Cortana told John that neural sensory connection liquid was about to be injected, then appeared in his cockpit to help him pilot the God Body.

Ch. 131Gun??, Cannon?

John and the other Spartans tested their newly armed divine bodies, launching from the underground facility and destroying hundreds of target ships with their giant weapons. William then ordered Halsey to have the Fire Spirit deploy targets so they could test the electromagnetic accelerator cannons.

  • Cortana confirmed that all fourteen Spartans had stable neural links and guided technicians as they armed the divine bodies.
  • William encouraged the Spartans, and Cortana launched the divine bodies through a rail tunnel to Minos Island's surface.
  • John led the Spartans to the eastern coast, where Cortana marked the target ships for their live-fire test.
  • The Spartans fired their giant cannons and destroyed hundreds of target ships within minutes.
  • William praised the weapons' power and asked Halsey to have the Fire Spirit deploy targets for testing the sniper rifles.

Ch. 132Defending against shells and such is too easy—let's try a hydrogen bomb

The Spartans tested the God Bodies and their new Electromagnetic Accelerator Cannons, destroying distant targets while defending against drone attacks. Halsey proposed testing their defenses against a hydrogen bomb.

  • Halsey told Carter that William wanted a spectacular demonstration, and Carter confirmed the message.
  • John assessed the Spartans’ earlier accuracy, then ordered Carl and Jerome to prepare an ultra-long-range test of the new cannons.
  • William and Halsey secretly launched hundreds of armed drones to test the Spartans’ agility and defensive coordination.
  • The drones launched missiles, but the God Bodies withstood the barrage while Cortana helped the Spartans evade further attacks.
  • Carl and Jerome each destroyed a target aircraft more than two thousand kilometers away with a single shot.
  • William approved of the results, and Halsey suggested testing the God Bodies against a hydrogen bomb.

Ch. 133Mine Colony

William declined Halsey’s proposal to test the god-body’s shield with a hydrogen bomb, and they resumed watching the live-ammunition demonstration. A report then introduced Project Beacon and the Marines stationed at Chief Mining’s FJ336 colony, where Hicks and Hudson began their shift.

  • Halsey explained that the god-body’s shield could withstand a powerful hydrogen bomb, but William refused to risk testing it with a real one.
  • The report identified Project Beacon as the first anomaly discovered beyond Earth and credited Hicks Dawn, Hudson Williams, and Gina Ivanovna Ivanova with stopping its effects.
  • Umbrella sold Colony Ships to three mining companies and required its Marines to serve in each colony’s security forces.
  • The report described Chief Mining’s FJ336 colony, where Hicks commanded the three Marines openly monitoring the miners.
  • At shift change, Hudson brought Hicks coffee made by Gina and complained about its bitter taste.

Ch. 134"They Want Our Corpses."

Hicks, Hudson, and Gina suspected the Chief Corporation was concealing an anomaly on asteroid FJ336 and armed themselves to investigate. In the residential area, they found the miners’ relatives killing themselves, and a dying mother screamed that someone wanted their corpses.

  • At breakfast, Hicks agreed with Hudson that the Chief Corporation might be hiding an anomaly and decided the three Marines should investigate without alerting Umbrella yet.
  • Hicks, Hudson, and Gina equipped themselves and headed for the colony’s Control Room.
  • The three entered a bloodied residential area where miners’ relatives were killing themselves.
  • Hicks, Hudson, and Gina tried to stop a mother from stabbing herself, but they arrived too late to save her baby or prevent her injury.
  • As Hicks supported the dying mother and Hudson reached for biological foam, she twisted the knife and screamed, “They! They want our corpses!”

Ch. 135'Dead Space'

Hicks and his Marines crossed a colony consumed by mass suicide and reached the Control Room with Chief Corporation executive Edward Jones. There, they restored communications and learned that the Chief Corporation had unearthed an artificial, inscription-covered structure called the Marker.

  • Hicks reported a mind-affecting anomaly at FC336, but communications with Mars Base had been cut off.
  • Hicks refused Hudson's suggestion to escape, and the Marines continued toward the Control Room while passing the colony's suicide victims.
  • The Marines encountered Edward Jones, who warned them to flee and then agreed to help after Hicks slapped him back to his senses.
  • Jones led the Marines into the Control Room, restored communications, and showed them images of the object excavated deep inside the asteroid.
  • The Marines saw a gigantic, inscription-covered double-helix structure identified as the artificial anomaly known as the Marker.

Ch. 136Monster? Marines Specialize in Killing Monsters

Hicks, Hudson, and Gina learned that a beacon inside FC336 had caused the colony’s mass suicides, and they set out to retrieve the supervisor’s identification card and contact Mars Base. They left the Control Room as bloody footprints appeared where the bodies had been, suggesting something else was moving through the colony.

  • Jones explained that the beacon emitted a carrier wave that caused the mass suicides and that the supervisor had planned to keep it from the Marines.
  • Hudson nearly attacked Jones, but Hicks stopped him and promised to keep Jones alive.
  • Jones discovered that communications required the supervisor’s identification card and that the supervisor was at the beacon alongside hundreds of tracking-chip signals.
  • Jones began to lose his sanity, so Hicks ordered Hudson to restrain him and gag him.
  • Hicks ordered the Marines to recover the identification card and contact Mars Base, and the three set out for the mine shaft.
  • The Marines found that the corpses in the living quarters had vanished, leaving bloody footprints behind.

Ch. 137Blood Battle to the End

Gina, Hicks, and Hudson fought their way through the colony’s mutated corpses and bat creatures, then entered the mine to retrieve the identification cards and reach the Beacon. Their gunfire drew the mutated entities near it, beginning a battle of two thousand against three.

  • Gina, Hicks, and Hudson encountered Bat Monsters and mutated corpses, and Gina cleared the passage to the barracks with her M56 Smartgun.
  • Hicks ordered Hudson to shoot the apparently dead creatures and recorded that the Beacon could mutate corpses and create bat creatures.
  • The Marines returned to the barracks, changed into airtight combat suits, and prepared to enter the mine.
  • Gina kissed Hudson and slapped him when he began to speak, reminding him of his jinx.
  • The three Marines charged into the mine and shot through groups of mutated corpses as they advanced toward the Beacon.
  • The Marines’ gunfire attracted the mutated entities near the Beacon, starting a battle of two thousand against three.

Ch. 138Result

On Mars, Colonel Mikhail Victor learned that Corporal Hicks Dawn had discovered an anomalous phenomenon on asteroid FJ336 and ordered a support mission. Hicks, Gina, and Hudson held off a horde of mutated creatures until Victor’s Marines arrived.

  • A technician told Victor that FJ336 had missed its scheduled report and that communications with the colony had failed.
  • Hicks contacted Mars Base, reported an anomalous phenomenon on FJ336, uploaded his video, and requested containment support.
  • Victor ordered the Obstacle Clearers to deploy and announced that he would lead the operation.
  • At the FJ336 control console, Hicks, Gina, and Hudson fought hundreds of mutated creatures while waiting for help, with Hudson’s mechanical arm damaged and their ammunition nearly gone.
  • Victor’s support force attacked the horde, and he told the Marines that help had arrived.

Ch. 139The Hidden Warship

The chapter summarized the Beacon incident and its aftermath, then showed William deciding that Umbrella would pursue monopoly after Chief Corporation’s betrayal. It left William aboard the Phantom, his hidden warship and new mobile home.

  • Umbrella sealed the FJ336 asteroid colony, sanctioned Chief Corporation, and arranged the arrest of its senior executives before the corporation went bankrupt.
  • Umbrella ended its partnerships with Bondiog Mining and Breakwater LLC, acquired both companies, and resolved to monopolize space mining and other industries.
  • The report recorded Edward Jones’s permanent mental damage and the promotion of Hicks Dawn’s squad to the elite Guardians company.
  • William read the Beacon file and condemned Chief Corporation for causing more than two thousand deaths.
  • William reflected on the Phantom, the camouflaged warship that replaced his private aircraft and carried his protectors.

Ch. 140Returning to Mars

William prepared to end Umbrella’s cooperation with other corporations after the Chief Corporation accident, then ordered the Phantom to warp from the Jiu Hai Colony to Mars. Halsey remained aboard the ship to research the Beacon, and the chapter ended as the Phantom began its journey.

  • William and Halsey discussed the casualties caused by Chief Corporation and Umbrella’s role in the mining industry.
  • William told Halsey to finish translating the Beacon’s writing and get back to work.
  • William walked through the Phantom and admired the Jiu Hai Colony before heading to the bridge.
  • William ordered Serena and Cortana to set a course for low orbit around Mars.
  • Serena and Cortana confirmed the coordinates and cleared the warp, and William ordered the Phantom to initiate warp.

Ch. 141Mars Fortress

William arrived at Mars and inspected Fortress, Umbrella’s largest military base, before meeting its commander, Colonel Mihal Victor. Victor agreed to show him around Fortress and Mars City.

  • William ordered the Phantom to hover above Mars Base and saw the vast Mars City and the steel-and-Titanium Alloy Fortress below.
  • William removed Serena’s chip, put Cortana in charge of the Phantom, and asked Serena for a report on Mars.
  • William met the Marines and the three members of Blue Team in the hangar, then boarded a Pelican with the Spartans.
  • The Pelican landed inside Fortress, where Colonel Mihal Victor greeted William and prepared to lead him on a tour of Fortress and Mars City.

Ch. 142Mars City

William toured the Fortress on Mars, admired its new Mammoth tanks and Vulture aircraft, and learned about Umbrella’s expanding defense fleets. He then boarded a high-speed train with John and the other Spartans, arriving at Mars City.

  • William inspected the Mammoths and Vultures with Victor and praised Victor’s brother Michel for his work in the Utah Containment Operation.
  • William offered to arrange a meeting with Michel, who was serving aboard the Phantom as commander of William’s personal Helljumpers, but Victor planned to visit him after the tour.
  • Victor showed William the Fortress Command Center and explained the plans for Umbrella’s First, Second, and Third Fleets.
  • Victor led William to the southern station and asked Serena to guide him around Mars City while he returned to the Command Center.
  • William, John, and the other Spartans boarded the high-speed train and arrived at Mars City through a transparent tunnel.

Ch. 143StarCraft 2 Human Pack

William and the Blue Team toured Mars City, where they enjoyed the bustling station, simulated Earthlike environment, and abundant restaurants and entertainment. As they settled into a buffet restaurant, the system warned William that a high-threat abnormal phenomenon was about to appear and offered him the StarCraft 2 Terran Pack for containing or controlling it.

  • William brought Mylon, Carl, and John through Central Station and told them to relax during their visit to Mars City.
  • Serena explained that Mars's domes simulated Earth's environment and synchronized their time zones with Hafa.
  • William offered to pay for the Spartans' food, and Mylon, Carl, and John bickered before Serena picked nearby restaurants.
  • William and the Spartans toured Mars City's restaurants, theme parks, cinemas, and shops under Serena's guidance.
  • As William sat with the Spartans at a buffet restaurant, the system announced an approaching high-threat abnormal phenomenon and offered the StarCraft 2 Terran Pack as a reward for containing or controlling it.

Ch. 144Athens

William learned from the system that an abnormal phenomenon was connected to Athens and ordered increased surveillance there. At the Parthenon, a mysterious golden-haired woman claimed the temple had been built for her and was identified as an abnormal phenomenon.

  • William asked the system about the coming abnormal phenomenon and received the clue “Athens.”
  • William ordered Serena to increase surveillance of Athens and prepare the Shadow of Hades to travel to Earth.
  • In Athens, Umbrella security personnel managed the crowds visiting the Parthenon and its statue of Athena.
  • A golden-haired woman stayed behind after the tourists were ushered out and criticized the statue.
  • The woman said the temple had been built for her, and a security officer raised his rifle and sounded the alarm.

Ch. 145Athena

A mysterious woman who appeared at the Parthenon was taken to the Athens military base, where William watched her interrogation. She identified herself as Pallas Athena and asked to speak with William.

  • Parthenon guards confronted the woman, who agreed to cooperate but warned them that their weapons could not harm her.
  • UBCS escorted the woman to the Athens base, where William arrived with the Sparta Blue Team, Hunk, and the Alphas.
  • Serena reported that the woman had appeared in Athens that day and that she had threatened to kill anyone who saw her face if her veil was removed.
  • William ordered the base supervisor to show the interrogation-room footage on the main screen.
  • The woman told the researcher she was Pallas Athena, the goddess of war, wisdom, order, and law, and said she would demonstrate her abilities for William.

Ch. 146Cronus

William met the woman calling herself Athena, confirmed that she possessed divine abilities, and learned that she wanted to join forces with him against Cronus. Athena left him with a promise to explain her long observation of him after they dealt with the Titan King.

  • William used the system to scan Athena and learned her combat power, abilities, and weakness if her energy ran out.
  • William ordered surveillance footage sent to Dr. Halsey for analysis and told the Spartan Squad on Earth to prepare for deployment.
  • William entered the interrogation room with the three Johns and asked Athena to prove she was the goddess from the legends.
  • Athena removed her veil and transformed into an armored goddess wielding a spear and shield, while the Spartans aimed their Gauss Rifles at her.
  • Athena revealed that she had been observing William and proposed that they join forces to stop and ideally kill her grandfather, Cronus.

Ch. 147Wrath of the Gods and the 'King of Monsters'?

Athena warned William that Cronus and the Titans would escape Tartarus in Antarctica within seven days, bringing Earth to the brink of destruction alongside a powerful three-headed dragon. William decided Umbrella needed to assemble its strongest forces and tried to secure Athena’s loyalty by proposing that she sign a confidentiality agreement.

  • William told Athena that Umbrella would oppose Cronus with or without her cooperation, then asked her to explain the threat.
  • Athena explained that the Titans were imprisoned in Tartarus in Antarctica and would escape within seven days, and warned that Cronus had a regenerative three-headed dragon that breathed lightning like Zeus’s Thunderbolt.
  • William realized the dragon might be Ghidorah and concluded that the crisis would require a military operation on an Exafanistei-class scale.
  • William asked the system whether a god signing Umbrella’s Confidentiality Agreement would gain a high loyalty rating, and the system advised him to try.
  • William proposed that Athena sign the agreement, and Athena challenged him to show her what she had to fear.

Ch. 148Some Bald Guy

After Athena signed Umbrella’s Confidentiality Agreement, William ordered the company to prepare for war against Cronus and brought Athena to Halsey for examination. Athena revealed that Kratos had destroyed Olympus, leaving William stunned.

  • Athena signed Umbrella’s Confidentiality Agreement and became an Umbrella member with loyalty of 80.
  • William ordered Umbrella employees to prepare for combat, recalled Spartan teams from Mars and Titan, and notified the United Nations.
  • William took Athena to Halsey’s laboratory, where scans showed her body contained an unusually high level of energy and functioned like a fusion reactor.
  • Halsey examined Athena and obtained a blood sample for research.
  • Athena told William that Kratos had destroyed Olympus after conflicts involving Zeus and Ares, and William was shocked by the revelation.

Ch. 149Preparing for War

William and Athena returned to Halifax City, where William warned world leaders that Cronus would escape in six days and asked them to join Umbrella’s preparations. Athena appeared before the assembled representatives and demonstrated her divine power, convincing them that the threat was real.

  • William asked Athena when she had begun watching him and Umbrella, and she said she had first noticed him defeating Hydra and Nemea at Santorini.
  • Serena told William that countries worldwide were preparing for a conference in Halifax City, and William ordered the ship to return there.
  • At the conference on November 14, 2009, William announced that Cronus would break free from a mountain in Antarctica in six days and release countless imprisoned creatures.
  • William asked the nations to send elite troops to fight Cronus, and he identified the anomaly as the Titans defeated by Zeus and the other gods.
  • Athena entered the hall, grew to ten meters tall, and introduced herself as the Goddess of wisdom and war, leaving the representatives stunned.

Ch. 150The Eve of Battle

On November 20, Umbrella and the allied nations prepared a massive defensive line north of McMurdo Station for Cronus, Ghidorah, and their Hellbeasts. With a hydrogen bomb, the First Fleet, ground forces, and the god-bodies ready, Mike awaited the Spartan Force and Athena as they passed through the trenches.

  • Umbrella deployed over two hundred thousand soldiers, naval forces, its First Fleet, and fourteen god-bodies along the Antarctic coast.
  • William arranged a forty-million-ton hydrogen bomb as a first strike and planned further attacks if it failed to stop the Titan Gods and Hellbeasts.
  • A British soldier and a Canadian soldier compared their equipment while a French soldier approached them in the trenches.
  • Mike oversaw the forward Command Center with four companies of Sharks guarding operations and prepared the allied ground forces to intercept surviving Hellbeasts.
  • An officer told Mike that the Spartan Force and Athena were ready to pass through the trenches, and Mike ordered the ground forces to stand by.

Ch. 151Hydrogen Bomb

William and Umbrella’s forces prepared to confront Cronus and Ghidorah as Athena led the transformed giants to the front line. William detonated a hydrogen bomb against Cronus, then ordered Serena to assess the damage and prepare the Spartans to attack if the anomalies survived.

  • William warned that Cronus was about to emerge, and Andre went to help command the ground forces.
  • William gave the Spartans their mission to slay the gods, while Athena agreed to lead them against the Titans and Ghidorah.
  • Athena and fourteen divine bodies transformed into 150-meter giants and took positions at the front of the defensive line.
  • Serena reported that Cronus had reached the surface and that ancient creatures were moving north toward Australia.
  • William ordered Serena to detonate the hydrogen bomb, which erupted in a blinding flash and formed a mushroom cloud over the mountain.
  • William ordered Serena to determine whether Cronus and Ghidorah had been eliminated and to send the Spartans forward to snipe if they had survived.

Ch. 152This Isn't Going as Expected...

After the hydrogen bomb killed four Titan Gods, Athena, the Spartans, and the fleet attacked the surviving Titans, Ghidorah, and Hellbeasts. William watched the battle turn unexpectedly in humanity’s favor, though Ghidorah was still healing and remained a threat.

  • Three British, Canadian, and French soldiers survived the hydrogen bomb’s blast and prepared for battle after seeing Ghidorah and the remaining Titans.
  • Athena led the Spartans toward the blast site as Ghidorah appeared with eight Titan Gods; the hydrogen bomb had killed four of the twelve Titans.
  • Athena wounded Ghidorah with her spear, and Carl and Jerome’s cannons blasted most of its body away before striking two surviving Titans.
  • Athena rallied the humans as twelve frigates fired on the advancing Titans and Hellbeasts.
  • Serena told William that six Titans were confirmed dead, Cronus was fighting Athena, and Ghidorah would heal within three minutes; William ordered Carl and Jerome to focus on Ghidorah.
  • William watched the Spartans and fleet overwhelm the enemy and wondered why the battle was going so smoothly.
