"Projection? How could a projection possibly be touched..."
Cypher instinctively refuted it.
Then he saw Iris staring at him with her eyes slightly widened.
"Cypher! This is the Magical World!"
I was so stupid. Truly.
In the Magical World, even undead beings that could speak but not be touched existed.
So what was so strange about a mere projection having those traits?
What? Why did the sound of an undead speaking not need a medium to travel through?
Don't ask. The answer was magic. It was very magical. It was supposed to be unscientific!
"You're right, Iris."
Only after a long while did Cypher come back to himself and let out a long sigh.
After all, decades of living as a Muggle had made him instinctively judge things he had never learned about through Muggle experience.
That was very dangerous. If an enemy understood his thought patterns, they could use the vast differences between the Magical World and the Muggle world against him.
Cypher stroked the white fur on Iris's forehead and smiled.
"Thank you, Iris. I often view new things through Muggle experience. Whenever that happens, I need you to correct my understanding, all right?"
Iris nodded with a beaming smile, the white fur tickling Cypher's palm as it rubbed against it.
"Then should we find Professor Leslie and ask her to go investigate the source with us?"
Seeing Cypher withdraw his hand and fall into thought,
Iris offered her suggestion.
"No!"
Cypher gently shook his head.
"We won't investigate the source. We'll let the professor look into it herself."
"Why?" Iris was somewhat puzzled.
"If even the professor can't handle it, there's no use in us going. Besides, I have a feeling the next victim is about to appear."
"Huh? Weren't the students from the outer academies
