When a beam of sunlight fell across Cypher's eyelids, his lashes began to tremble.

The moment his eyes opened to a slit, the glaring sunlight forced them shut again.
He raised a hand before his face and took several deep breaths to drive away the lingering drowsiness.
Cypher sluggishly, listlessly tried to crawl out of bed.
Cypher had gone to sleep very late last night. It had been almost dawn before he had finally drifted off after tossing and turning.
