Background / History

Beli left his tribe early because he was different from birth and later risked contact with human society to understand his unusual nature. He was eventually captured by humans and placed up for auction. Saul identified him as a rare Mink Tribe descendant whose bloodline was incomplete or thin. 49

Sunny initially wanted to sell Beli, while Maud chose to keep him after recognizing his potential. Beli's habit of calling Sunny “Mom” complicated her decision. 49 50
