Tongtian refused to let the Interception Sect be sacrificed for the Investiture of the Gods and cultivated until he regained and surpassed his former Sage power. After defeating Yuanshi, Jieyin, and Zhunti and forcing them to surrender treasures, he turned to strengthening himself and the sect against the coming calamity.

• Tongtian refused to sign the Investiture of the Gods, abolished his Sage position, and used the God-Tier System’s rewards to pursue the Great Dao.
• Tongtian entered seclusion, advanced his physical cultivation and refined the Primordial Grand Unity Dao Fruit while warning his disciples to remain on Golden Ao Island.
• Yuanshi and Taishang confronted Tongtian, but Tongtian suppressed them with his regained Sage might and resolved to protect the Interception Sect from the coming calamity.
• Yuanshi, Jieyin, and Zhunti schemed against one another before joining forces to pressure Tongtian into signing the Investiture of the Gods.

Tongtian strengthened his power, helped Houtu free the Earthly Dao from the Heavenly Dao’s control, and prepared the Interception Sect for the great tribulation. As Yuanshi’s schemes destabilized the Shang Dynasty and drew the sects into conflict, Tongtian’s clone erased Yuanshi’s Evil Corpse, leaving the confrontation unresolved.

• Tongtian allied with Houtu by teaching her Earthly Path Sublimation, and she used it to raise the Earthly Dao until it could contend with the Heavenly Dao.
• Tongtian manipulated the conflict between Houtu and Yuanshi, then returned to Golden Ao Island and advanced to the fifth realm of the Great Dao Saint stage.
• At Zixiao Palace, Tongtian injured Yuanshi and challenged Jieyin and Zhunti before Hongjun announced the great tribulation and presented the Investiture of the Gods.
• Tongtian arranged for Yuanshi to recruit Shen Gongbao into the Chan Sect, completed the Myriad Immortals Great Formation, and secretly made Di Xin a disciple of the Interception Sect.
• Yuanshi’s schemes against Di Xin failed when Tongtian arranged for Yun Zhongzi to expose Daji as a Nine-Tailed Fox, but Daji had already helped purge loyal officials and kill Empress Jiang.
• San Xiao and Guangchengzi and Chijingzi fought over Yin Hong and Yin Jiao, and Yuanshi intervened against the sisters.
• Tongtian’s clone fought Yuanshi’s Evil Corpse and erased it with the Dao-Slaying Heavenly Sword, leaving Guangchengzi and the others trembling.

Tongtian’s warning about the Chan Sect’s schemes led to a clash in Chaoge, where Yuanshi nearly killed several Interception Sect disciples before Tongtian arrived and overwhelmed him. The fighting left Ji Chang’s execution blocked by Taishang, while Tongtian returned to Chaoge and the dispute over the Shang Dynasty remained unresolved.

• Tongtian revealed to Yin Hong and Yin Jiao that the Chan Sect had arranged Daji’s possession and planned to use the princes to provoke civil war, and the brothers returned to inform Di Xin.
• Di Xin imprisoned Ji Chang after executing Jiang Huanchu, then ordered Ji Chang’s execution despite Tongtian’s warning that Xi Qi would attack.
• Yu Ding and Taiyi tried to rescue Ji Chang, but Wudang confronted them and was nearly killed by Yuanshi, Randeng, and Naji Xianweng before Tongtian sent Duobao, Lu Ya, and Great Immortal Wuyun to support her.
• Yuanshi suppressed Wudang and the other Interception Sect disciples in Chaoge, wounded Di Xin, and prepared to kill them, but Tongtian appeared and blocked his attack.
• Tongtian fought Yuanshi while Duobao, Wudang, Lu Ya, and Great Immortal Wuyun battled the Chan Sect disciples, and Wudang destroyed Yu Ding’s primordial spirit.
• Tongtian defeated Yuanshi in their battle, while Di Xin again tried to execute Ji Chang and Taishang intervened to stop the execution.
• Di Xin defied Taishang’s claim to authority over the Human Race, and Yuanshi fled toward Taishang as Tongtian returned to Chaoge.

Tongtian helped Di Xin abolish the Human Sect, defeated Yuanshi and Taishang, and forced them to surrender treasures before turning to the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation. He recruited Jiang Shang as his disciple, and Hongjun later named Jiang Ziya the Calamity Responder and entrusted Tongtian with the Investiture of the Gods and God-Beating Whip.

• Yuanshi and Taishang tried to stop Di Xin from executing Ji Chang, but Tongtian shielded Di Xin and revealed his seventh-level Great Dao Saint cultivation.
• Di Xin killed Ji Chang, then used the Kongtong Seal to claim the Human Race’s destiny, denounce Taishang, and abolish the Human Sect.
• Tongtian defeated Yuanshi and Taishang, killed Yuanshi once before he revived through Primordial Violet Qi, and forced both Sages to surrender treasures under Hongjun’s ruling.
• Tongtian returned to Chaoge and gave Di Xin the Kongtong Seal, then found Jiang Shang and accepted him as his fifth personal disciple.
• Duobao taught Jiang Shang to cultivate while Tongtian refined Sword Dao Laws and advanced to the eighth layer of the Primordial Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.
• Yuanshi sent Guangchengzi to urge Ji Fa to rebel against Great Shang, and Hongjun summoned the Six Saints to Zixiao Palace as the calamity began.
• Hongjun declared Jiang Ziya the Calamity Responder, and Tongtian reminded the other Sages that he had never claimed Shen Gongbao was chosen.
• Yuanshi confronted Tongtian, but Hongjun stopped their clash and gave Tongtian the Investiture of the Gods and God-Beating Whip to deliver to Jiang Ziya.
