History
Sacred Soul Village and Nuoding Academy
Tang San grew up as Han Yuchen’s neighbor in Sacred Soul Village. At the Martial Soul Awakening ceremony, he awakened Blue Silver Grass but stunned Su Yuntao by displaying Innate Full Soul Power. 1
He entered Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy alongside Xiao Wu. When the gatekeeper insulted them for their backgrounds and Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, Tang San tried to resolve the dispute through the academy’s rules before preparing to fight. His Blue Silver Grass later backfired against Han Yuchen, leaving him unconscious after its poison was reflected onto him. 8 9
Tang San initially relied heavily on Blue Silver Grass control. During a spar with Han Yuchen, every binding attempt was deflected, and Han Yuchen’s speed exposed Tang San’s inability to answer enemies who could evade or attack from his blind spots. The defeat forced Tang San to reconsider the limits of his combat system. 17
Shrek Academy
At Shrek, Tang San became part of the group later known as the Shrek Seven Devils. He fought alongside Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, Oscar, Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Ma Hongjun, developing into the group’s principal controller and tactical commander. 65 135
Han Yuchen revealed that he knew Tang San was a transmigrator and knew Xiao Wu’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast identity. Tang San accepted Han Yuchen’s protection and agreed to cooperate, receiving a bracelet intended to conceal Xiao Wu’s aura. 65
During the hunt for his third Soul Ring, Tang San broke through level 30, absorbed the Man Faced Demon Spider’s Thousand-Year Soul Ring, and gained the Eight Spider Lances External Soul Bone. 94
Tournament and Moonlight Pavilion
Tang San led Shrek’s control tactics during the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. Against Elephant Armor Academy, he used Blue Silver Prison, Parasite, and Spider Web Restraint to overwhelm the opposing defensive formation, earning recognition as the “King of Control.” 172 173
After accumulating severe killing intent, Tang San was brought by Han Yuchen to Moonlight Pavilion, where he met his aunt Tang Yuehua for the first time. Under her Noble Ring Domain, he endured a painful baptism that tempered his killing intent rather than destroying it. 167 169 170
He later survived Shi Nian’s Nightmare Space through willpower, Purple Demon Eye, Blue Silver Bodyguard, Tang Sect techniques, and his hidden weapons. When forced into a final exchange, he prepared King Yama’s Post against the Soul Douluo. 176 177
Ice and Fire Two Forms Spring
Tang San entered the Ice and Fire Two Forms Spring after consuming Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass. He used the opposing herbs and the spring’s power to improve his physique and Golden Body, then continued cultivating in Sunset Forest until his Soul Power exceeded level 47. 189 190 191
Martial Soul Hall and Separation
When Xiao Wu’s identity was exposed during the tournament finals, Tang San openly rejected Bibi Dong’s description of her as a beast, declaring her his lover. 301
Tang Hao subsequently rescued the group from Martial Soul Hall and acknowledged Tang San’s growth. After Xiao Wu departed to protect Shrek Academy, Tang San chose to leave with his father for harsh special training, determined never again to be powerless before threats to those he loved. 311 312 313
City of Slaughter and Later Conflicts
Tang San entered the City of Slaughter to conquer Hell Road and pursue greater power for Xiao Wu and revenge. There, he was targeted by the Shadow Contract and the Holy Spirit Cult because of his connection to the Asura God’s inheritance. 339 340
Han Yuchen aided him during the Hell Road crisis, creating a safe zone through Supernova Mode and helping Tang San evolve his killing intent into a transparent sword. Tang San emerged from Hell Road weakened but alive, only to be targeted again by Blood Bat Douluo before Tang Hao intervened. 346 347
Afterward, Tang San struggled to control Divine Slaughter’s Domain. Han Yuchen gave him a Star Soul-Suppressing Stone, ostensibly to filter impure emotions and prevent the Domain from losing control; it was secretly a Star Atlas monitoring terminal. 354 355
Shadow Spores eventually corrupted Tang San’s body and mind, causing him to attack his own companions in a berserk state. Han Yuchen used Sacred Lin Judgment to purge the Shadow Origin from him, but the ordeal awakened the Asura God Shadow and left Tang San vulnerable to Han Yuchen’s manipulation. 377 379 382 385
Personality
Tang San is disciplined, vigilant, and exceptionally determined. Even when facing stronger opponents, he studies their abilities, adapts his tactics, and continues fighting rather than retreating. His response to Shi Nian’s illusion and his decision to use King Yama’s Post against a Soul Douluo demonstrate this resolve. 176 177
He is deeply protective of Xiao Wu and places his companions’ safety above his own. Xiao Wu’s exposure, separation, and the danger posed to Shrek Academy became central reasons for his pursuit of strength. 301 312 313
Tang San is capable of humility and self-reflection. Han Yuchen’s repeated displays of superiority initially leave him frustrated, but he eventually recognizes that they are pursuing different paths rather than treating Han Yuchen solely as a rival. 115 158
His greatest weakness is the violent killing intent connected to the Slaughter God’s power. Though he can temper and wield it, fear, anger, hatred, and Shadow corruption repeatedly threaten to overwhelm his reason. 169 354 377
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass
Tang San’s primary Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass, which he develops into an exceptionally versatile control weapon rather than treating it as a simple binding tool. 115 172
- Entangle / Blue Silver Grass Binding — summons grass vines to seize and restrict enemies. 17 78
- Parasite — plants Blue Silver Grass seeds that erupt from an opponent or surrounding terrain. 94 115
- Spider Web Restraint — creates a venomous, adhesive web that immobilizes targets. 135 173
- Blue Silver Prison — forms a powerful enclosure that can compress enemies and their defenses. 172
- Blue Silver Bodyguard — a defensive technique awakened through his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline; it blocked Shi Nian’s Nightmare Claw. 177
- Blue Silver Domain — can conceal his presence, though Han Yuchen’s gravity-based perception can still detect him. 354
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer as his second Martial Soul. It is tied to his Clear Sky Sect lineage and is repeatedly identified as one of his greatest sources of potential power. 307 385
- Its aura can be amplified through Han Yuchen’s Divine Skill Trial Card, producing pressure that terrified even Titled Douluo. 298
- Shadow corruption later blackened and destabilized the hammer during Tang San’s conflict with Shadow forces. 385 387
Tang Sect Techniques
As a transmigrator carrying Tang Sect knowledge, Tang San uses hidden weapons and internal techniques that complement his Martial Souls. 65 177
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — internal cultivation method used to sustain himself against poison and support his combat techniques. 187
- Purple Demon Eye — enhances perception and spiritual attacks; it helped him disrupt Shi Nian’s Sea of Consciousness and detect threats. 115 177
- Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — evasive footwork used to escape Shi Nian’s illusionary attack. 176
- Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — a grappling technique used to seize Shi Nian’s wrist and create an opening for hidden weapons. 177
- Mysterious Jade Hand — hardens his hands for weapon use and fine control. 387
Hidden Weapons
Tang San combines concealed weapons with precise timing, poison, and control techniques.
- Dragon Whisker Needles — used with other hidden weapons during his fight with Shi Nian. 177
- Godly Zhuge Crossbow — carried in the City of Slaughter. 339
- King Yama’s Post — Tang Sect’s third-ranked supreme hidden weapon; its poison is described as fatal once it draws blood. 177
- Pear Blossom Rain Needle and Buddha’s Fury Tang Lotus — intended future creations for which Tang San selected Star Iron. 164
Eight Spider Lances
Tang San acquired the Eight Spider Lances after absorbing the Man Faced Demon Spider’s Soul Ring. The External Soul Bone provides mobility, combat reach, and venomous offensive potential. 94 173
Killing Intent and Divine Slaughter’s Domain
Tang San’s killing intent originated from life-or-death battles, the Eight Spider Lances, and later the City of Slaughter. Tang Yuehua’s Noble Ring Domain helped him forge that unstable force into the Heart of the God of Slaughter. 169 170
- It can intimidate opponents before combat begins, as seen against Elephant Armor Academy. 172
- Its instability repeatedly endangers Tang San’s mind and body. 354 377
- Shadow Spores corrupted the Domain and transformed Tang San into a parasitized monster before Han Yuchen purified him. 378 379
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night — storage belt used to carry Tang San’s hidden weapons and specialized tools. 177 298
- King Yama’s Post — supreme Tang Sect hidden weapon used in desperate battles. 177 387
- Star Iron — rare metal selected for forging high-level hidden weapons. 164
- Divine Skill Trial Card — a card supplied by Han Yuchen that temporarily allowed Tang San to draw on an ancient, divine-level Clear Sky Hammer aura. 298
- Star Soul-Suppressing Stone — given by Han Yuchen to calm Tang San’s Divine Slaughter’s Domain; secretly functions as a monitoring terminal. 355
Relationships
- Han Yuchen — Neighbor, childhood companion, adviser, and eventual manipulator. Tang San repeatedly accepts Han Yuchen’s aid and guidance, but later becomes increasingly wary of his coldness, overwhelming power, and treatment of him as a pawn. 17 65 339 382 387
- Xiao Wu — Childhood friend and lover. Tang San refuses to let others reduce her to a Soul Beast and vows to wait for her return after their separation. 301 312
- Tang Hao — Father and the Clear Sky Douluo. Their relationship is strained by Tang Hao’s long absence, but Tang Hao later recognizes Tang San’s growth and takes him for special training. 307 311 313
- Tang Yuehua — Aunt and master of Moonlight Pavilion. She helps temper Tang San’s killing intent through her Noble Ring Domain and offers Moonlight Pavilion as his home. 167 169 170
- Yu Xiaogang — Mentor. Tang San seeks his instruction from his early academy years onward, while Yu Xiaogang observes and evaluates his growth as a Soul Master. 9 17 313
- Dai Mubai, Oscar, Ma Hongjun, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing — Shrek companions who rely on Tang San’s battlefield control and leadership. 135 185
- Hu Liena — Temporary Hell Road companion; she fought alongside Tang San and Han Yuchen against the Holy Son. 346
- Bibi Dong — Hostile Pope of Martial Soul Hall who seeks Xiao Wu and views Tang San as a dangerous talent. 300 301
