The Lich Old Man watched it all expressionlessly. With so many reversals, he no longer knew what kind of mood he should face this with.
He watched the Eight-Armed Skeleton attack with effortless ease, watched the terrifying display of its strength. Images of it stumbling awkwardly before, and absorbing his power through a handshake, kept flashing through his mind.
For some reason, he suddenly recalled something Richard had once said. He had not understood it when Richard said it, and he still did not fully understand it now, but he vaguely felt it might suit the current situation.
Richard had once said, "Energy can neither be created from nothing nor disappear into nothing. It can only be converted from one form into another, or transferred from one object to another. Throughout this process, the total amount of energy remains unchanged."
Perhaps the Eight-Armed Skeleton had used all its strength on the first Bone Spear, which was why it had become incredibly weak after throwing it. Only after absorbing his power had it been able to control five Bone Spears again and beat Tinwood senseless.
If that was the case, then he was actually stronger than the Eight-Armed Skeleton. After all, the Eight-Armed Skeleton's own power could only control one Bone Spear for a single attack. Yet after absorbing his energy, it could control five Bone Spears and attack repeatedly.
By calculation, he should have been more than five times as strong as the Eight-Armed Skeleton.
But why could he, the stronger one, not defeat Tinwood, while the Eight-Armed Skeleton could? The Lich Old Man racked his brains as, beside him, the Eight-Armed Skeleton used five constantly stabbing Bone Spears to batter Tinwood into an increasingly miserable state.
At first, Tinwood still shouted furiously and tried to resist, but gradually, his
