Background / History

Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi's daughter and the pampered little princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Though she possesses level-nine Innate Soul Power and the sect's inherited support martial soul, her father compares her unfavorably to Ye Yu's achievements, provoking her hostility toward him when they first meet 58.

Seeking to challenge Ye Yu on her behalf, she has her admirer Chen Xuan attack him. Ye Yu defeats Chen Xuan, then publicly disciplines Rongrong for using her status to bully others. Ning Fengzhi allows the lesson, believing her reckless conduct could endanger both herself and the sect 59 60 61.

Rongrong later leaves the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect for Shrek Academy. She resists its rules, abandons Flender's assigned punishment to spend the day in Suotuo City, and is eventually confronted for leaving the academy without permission 93 96. Ye Yu's protection and criticism of Shrek's training methods gradually change her opinion of him 97.

After leaving Shrek with Ye Yu and Zhu Zhuqing, Rongrong receives a Demon Willow Fluff External Soul Bone, instruction in the Mysterious Heaven Skill, and the Aromatic Silk Beauty. The herb raises her cultivation to Rank 30 and evolves her Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda into the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda—the long-sought breakthrough of the Ning family 116 117.
