"Having to come in on the first day of the holiday just to get familiar with the paperwork... Honestly..."

After breakfast, Andrew saw his roommates off, then ambled toward Professor McGonagall's office. Everyone else in his dormitory had chosen to go home.

He had no intention of wasting the first day of his holiday, either. After half a day in the office, he planned to spend the rest of it reading stories by the common room fireplace, relaxing and looking for new inspiration.

Once I sort out the document formats and get a general feel for the official wording, I can take a break.

He stretched his arms one last time, opened the door to Professor McGonagall's office, and greeted the house-elf inside. "Hello, Jim."

"Hello, Mr. Taylor. Would you like something to drink?"

"Ah, no thanks. I just came from the dining hall."

"Very well. Please call me if you need anything."

With a soft pop, the house-elf vanished.

"What convenient magic..."

Andrew marveled at it, though magic so far beyond his current abilities wasn't worth thinking about. He sat down at his desk, took a notebook from his bag, and began analyzing the stack of documents on it.

The work was easier than he'd expected. Thanks to that bizarre club, he'd even seen an analysis of the entire text. There was a copy in the common room being used to prop up a table...

"You never know what might come in handy."

Andrew marveled at that, too. He would dig it out when he got back. For now, he would work through the documents in his own way, then compare his conclusions afterward.

"Halfway through..."

Andrew stood and stretched. Hogwarts' official documents were less strict than he'd expected, and the templates were much the same. He hadn't
