It had spiritual nature but no strength at all—now even an ordinary person, or a great fire, could easily destroy it again.
"Cultivation—I must use this willow body to step back onto the path of cultivation."
"I cannot use any of my original strength or realm from the Primordial World, so I can only comprehend the origin laws of the Great Desolation World!"
"I must figure out the origin of this world and create a cultivation method suited for the Great Desolation World!"
"Only by growing strong will I have the chance to explore the mysteries of the Great Desolation World!"
And so, Nuwa began to dissect the origin laws of the Great Desolation World—in other words, she had to create her own cultivation technique!
This was no delusion for Nuwa; though her strength and realm were gone, she still possessed the insight of a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal.
Thus, time flowed like a river, and another two hundred years passed, mountains and seas shifting.
Nuwa's willow body had long since transformed, from a single charred black stump into a towering tree hundreds of meters tall.
Though it was still not as massive as when she first arrived, it was completely renewed.
Lush green willow branches swayed in the wind, forming a striking scene across the Vast Mountain Range.
Yet on the thick trunk, the scorch marks from lightning still remained, giving the entire willow a somewhat strange appearance.
Nuwa had once wanted to shed those marks, but they seemed to carry the lingering aura of the being behind the thunder, preventing her from molting for now.
Moreover, that lingering aura suppressed the willow's growth—otherwise, it could have grown even taller!
But Nuwa did not dwell on this; she remained immersed in the process of creating her method. Once she grew strong, she could naturally dispel the aura on the scorch marks.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the Vast Mountain Range.
A group of several hundred ragged humans was advancing through the forest.
Each of them carried heavy bundles and packs, their auras weak and weary as they supported one another while walking.
Before long, this group stopped in a mountain hollow not far from where Nuwa was, and began to build shelters.
Within a few days, a crude village took shape.
That night, the hundreds of villagers lit a bonfire, gathered around it, singing and dancing with great joy.
After eating, drinking, and playing their fill, an old man stepped forward. He leaned on a staff, his face weathered, his eyes sharp, exuding an authority that commanded respect without anger.
Seeing the old man, the other villagers quieted down and stopped their revelry.
The old man looked around and said in a strong, resonant voice: "Our Stone Village has been initially built, and everyone has a place to rest. But this is the Vast Mountain Range, where fierce beasts run rampant. If Stone Village wants to stand here, relying on our strength alone is not enough!"
"We need a sacrificial spirit willing to protect Stone Village!"
A bare-chested, muscular man spoke up loudly: "Village Chief, rest assured. Tomorrow, I and the clansmen will go out to search for a sacrificial spirit!"
The old man nodded and continued: "Our Stone Clan has guarded the border of the upper realm for countless eons. Even though we now bear an unjust crime and have been exiled here, we must not disgrace the glory of our ancestors. The choice of sacrificial spirit must not be an evil or crooked spirit!"
"Understood!" the muscular man replied solemnly.
A faint smile appeared on the old man's deeply lined face. He waved his hand and said: "Everyone, continue!"
And so the village grew lively once again, filled with songs and laughter.
Nuwa, however, knew nothing of this...

Chapter 7: Easy to Invite a God, Hard to Send One Away—The Willow's Shocking Change! (Seventh update, begging for favorites)
Primordial World, Buzhou Mountain.
Shen Lang looked at the human village appearing on the light screen, a mix of surprise and anticipation stirring in his heart.
In the current Primordial World, humanity did not yet exist!
As the Holy Mother of Primordial humanity, what kind of scene would it be when she saw humans before she had even created them?
Unfortunately, Nuwa was currently still and the simulation diary only indicated that she was creating her own cultivation method.
If it were anyone else in the simulator, Shen Lang wouldn't understand a thing—how could he create a damn technique?
But he wondered what kind of technique Nuwa would ultimately create!
What was certain, though, was that Nuwa's simulation this time should be able to pass the minimum challenge time.
That meant, once this simulation ended, Shen Lang would definitely receive his reward...
Myriad Worlds Simulator, Great Desolation World, Vast Mountain Range.
Back in the Primordial World, a single seclusion for Nuwa could last tens of thousands of years.
A few hundred years were but a fleeting moment to her, so naturally, she felt no boredom.
Though she had yet to create a technique, Nuwa already had a preliminary concept—she only needed to experiment and practice to complete it.
In essence, the Great Desolation World should be inferior to the Primordial World—perhaps a difference in strength between the ones who opened the heavens.
Pangu was stronger than the one who opened the Great Desolation World!
Of course, this was merely Nuwa's speculation.
However, compared to the Primordial Wilderness, the spiritual energy of the Great Desolation World is indeed a full ninety-nine percent thinner, and it is not Innate Spiritual Energy either!
The spiritual energy of the Great Desolation World is extremely impure, filled with all sorts of chaotic and disorderly energies.
Could it be called Acquired Spiritual Energy?
The Primordial Wilderness is currently in the early stages of the Witch-Demon Tribulation, and the spiritual energy between heaven and earth is all Innate Spiritual Energy.
Only after the Witch-Demon Tribulation ends, and later the Investiture of the Gods War when the saints shatter the Primordial Wilderness, will Innate Spiritual Energy completely degrade into Acquired Spiritual Energy.
Nuwa has essentially experienced the era of Acquired Spiritual Energy ahead of time.
The current problem is to create a technique that can absorb these impure energies, thereby strengthening her divine soul and her Willow Tree body!
Time flows slowly, and eight hundred years pass in the blink of an eye.
As Shen Lang expected, adding the previous four hundred-plus years, Nuwa has already completed the minimum challenge time for this simulation!
But Nuwa paid no attention to this at all, wholeheartedly deducing and refining techniques.
During this period, Nuwa created tens of thousands of techniques, but each had flaws of varying degrees, and she discarded them all.
Ordinary techniques, Nuwa could produce with ease.
But she is a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal, she is an Innate Divine Being—how could she allow herself to cultivate shoddy, hastily made techniques?
She wanted to create a perfect technique for herself in this Great Desolation World...
Eight hundred years are but a snap of the fingers to Nuwa.
Yet to the mortals of the world, it represents thirty to forty generations of life, aging, sickness, death, and renewal.
During the centuries Stone Village spent in the Vast Mountain Range, those who first arrived have long since vanished, devoured by time.
And those now living in Stone Village are their descendants.
Still, the population is not large, around a thousand people.
The main reason is that the Vast Mountain Range is fraught with danger; they live by hunting and often encounter powerful fierce beasts, their lives hanging in the balance.
Especially in the last hundred years, Stone Village's circumstances have worsened with each passing day. The number of able-bodied young adults has sharply decreased, while the elderly, weak, women, and children have relatively increased.
The root cause lies in Stone Village's Spirit Guardian!
Back then, the village's ancestors, not long after establishing the village, found a powerful Spirit Guardian willing to protect Stone Village.
It was a massive amber-colored boulder with mysterious and unfathomable abilities, now situated in the very center of Stone Village.
At first, when the villagers brought this stone back to the village, it wholeheartedly protected them, driving away fierce beasts and Strange Beasts they could not defeat, and using its mysterious power to heal the injured. It truly became the village's guardian deity.
The villagers of Stone Village also sincerely offered it worship, presenting offerings to the Spirit Guardian every day!
These offerings were the flesh and blood of fierce beasts, or spiritual herbs and rare items.
However, as time passed, this originally kind and righteous Spirit Guardian gradually grew greedy. Though it still protected the villagers, its daily demands became higher and higher, to the point where it now forced the villagers to double their offerings.
Corpses of fierce beasts and Strange Beasts, countless spiritual herbs and medicines—these left the villagers stretched beyond their limits.
It's easy to invite a god, but hard to send one away!
Forced by the Spirit Guardian's power, the villagers could not resist and had to labor to find offerings for it, causing many to lose their lives to beasts.
Thus, Stone Village's overall strength was continuously weakened, slowly leaving only a group of the old, weak, and sick.
The Spirit Guardian was not satisfied. Even the old, weak, and sick had to go out and hunt blood sacrifices for it, treating the villagers as mere tools, completely disregarding their lives.
If this continued, Stone Village would very likely face extinction!
Then, on this day, the starving villagers of Stone Village were delivering the corpses of fierce beasts to the Boulder Spirit Guardian.
Three corpses of Tusked Boars and one of a Gray Bear, all very large, each weighing over a thousand jin.
The amber-colored boulder emitted a glow that enveloped the beast corpses, and they gradually shriveled up, their flesh, blood, and essence completely absorbed, leaving only skin and bones.
Seeing this, several bloodstained villagers showed a pained expression on their weary faces.
These four beast corpses had cost the lives of two villagers and could have fed the village for half a month, yet they were gone just like that.
Suddenly, a surge of force came from the boulder, and those villagers were violently sent flying.
