Background & History

Transmigration and the Simulator

Shen Lang transmigrated into the Primordial World as the Green Lotus of Creation, an existence targeted by the Heavenly Dao. Although he awakened the Myriad Worlds Simulator, he could not use it personally because entry required Humanoid Transformation—a condition his lotus body could not initially meet. Instead, he discovered that he could invite other beings into simulations and receive rewards according to their survival and performance. 1

His first chosen Player was Nuwa, selected over the nearby Fuxi because the simulator rated her SSS-rank. Nuwa's first simulation ended in failure, but Shen Lang chose the resulting Nameless Cultivation Method and used it to establish his first true cultivation foundation. 2 9

Sword Soul and Escape into Chaos

After hosting Tongtian's simulation, Shen Lang selected Tongtian's Sword Soul Cultivation Method rather than the Sword Come talent, valuing its defensive use over its offensive appeal. He modified the method for his own abundant Green Lotus energy, creating layered Sword Soul Primordial Spirits that could be shattered for explosive attacks without immediately destroying his core existence. 20 21 23

Using Heavenly Concealment to reduce the Heavenly Dao's awareness of him, Shen Lang attempted to leave the Innate Spirit Array and flee into Chaos. When the Heavenly Dao struck him with Nine Layers Violet Firmament Divine Thunder, he allowed Hongjun's Taiji Diagram to bear the main force of the tribulation, then seized the now-masterless Innate Supreme Treasure and escaped. 31 33

Creation of the Myriad Worlds

While concealed in Chaos, Shen Lang strengthened his Chaos Green Lotus body through prolonged absorption of spiritual energy and Chaos energy. He later obtained the origins of the Great Desolation World and God's Tomb World from simulator settlements. 46 116

After completing World Creation within his main body, Shen Lang formed a personal world and named it the Myriad Worlds. He integrated simulated-world origins into it as separate continents, beginning with the Great Desolation Continent and God's Tomb Continent. 125 128

Conflict with Hongjun

Hongjun pursued Shen Lang repeatedly for the Chaos Green Lotus and the Taiji Diagram. Shen Lang first repelled Hongjun's avatar by splitting eight Sword Soul Primordial Spirits, then later confronted Hongjun directly after becoming a Primal Grand Unity Golden Immortal. 49 50 143

During their battle in the Primordial World, Shen Lang seized the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, the Four Immortal Slaying Swords, and the God Slaying Spear. Using Tongtian's simulator-derived forging method, he refined them together with Sword Soul layers into the Heaven Punishing Sword, severing Hongjun from his Dao Integration. 144 146

Dao Lord and Isolation

Shen Lang integrated with the Myriad Worlds' Heavenly Dao and became its Dao Lord. He imprisoned Hongjun within the Myriad Worlds, extracting information from him while crippling his cultivation. 195 196

Nuwa and Houtu later suspected Shen Lang's connection to the Myriad Worlds Simulator and attacked him. Shen Lang expelled them from the Myriad Worlds, then removed all other living beings—including Daoist Yang Mei and Candle Dragon—from the world as well. He chose to leave the Myriad Worlds to evolve without external interference. 211 212

Appearance

Shen Lang originally existed as the half-bloomed Green Lotus of Creation within a pool of Three Lights Divine Water. Following his maturation, he became a thirty-six-petaled Chaos Green Lotus capable of assuming a humanoid form. 9 126

Shen Lang is intensely survival-oriented. He consistently selects rewards and cultivation paths that improve his odds of escaping the Heavenly Dao, such as choosing the Sword Soul method for its extra lives rather than choosing a more straightforward offensive talent. 20

He is opportunistic and calculating in conflict. During his escape from the Primordial World, he deliberately let Hongjun's Taiji Diagram absorb the fused divine thunder, then took the treasure after Hongjun's divine sense was destroyed. 33

Shen Lang treats simulations primarily as a means of strengthening himself and the Myriad Worlds. His initial curiosity about Players' experiences gradually gives way to a focus on acquiring world origins and expanding his world's foundation. 23 207

He is also secretive and controlling. He concealed his identity from Nuwa, delayed revealing himself to her, and ultimately expelled Nuwa, Houtu, Yang Mei, and Candle Dragon from the Myriad Worlds when he judged them to be uncontrollable risks. 151 212
