Background / History

Jack is a Night City native with “the blood of Heywood” and identifies strongly with the district's tightly connected, gang-influenced community. He grew up in poverty under an abusive father, experiences that shaped his determination to secure a better life for his mother and Misty. 12 160 181

He first meets Su Xiao while hiring him for a delivery into Night City. After the successful job, Jack brings Su to Heywood, introduces him to Mrs. Wells and the Wolf Bar, and offers him work as his partner rather than abandoning him as originally planned. 12 14 16

Jack later becomes involved in Kirk's scheme after V and Peppy are caught up in the fixer’s debt trap. He confronts Kirk, investigates his connection to the Vortex Gang with Su and V, and helps force Kirk out of the situation. 19 20 21 24

Following the Azure Tower relic heist and its consequences, Jack becomes more protective of his family and more cautious in his ambitions. When the Priest is severely injured and Heywood's power structure destabilizes, Jack takes command of the Priest's subordinates, wins a Trial by Combat, and is formally considered as the Priest's successor. 208 234 236 247

Appearance

Jack is a muscular man whose clothing and jewelry reflect his Heywood roots and gang-adjacent image. He later adopts a more polished appearance for high-class meetings and operations.

  • Muscular build. 12
  • Usually wears his hair in a bun/topknot. 12 180
  • Has tattoos and commonly wears thick gold jewelry, including a bracelet and chain. 12 286
  • Wears a tailored suit with slicked-back hair for a meeting at Azure Tower, though he retains his gold accessories. 286

Personality

Jack is loyal, impulsive, and highly protective of the people he considers family. He is willing to confront Kirk over Peppy's debt, take responsibility for dangerous jobs, and put himself in harm's way to protect Su Xiao and V. 20 188 194

He initially pursues high-risk opportunities with little patience for caution, believing a major score could lift his loved ones out of poverty. After surviving the Azure Tower operation and working alongside Su Xiao, he becomes more measured: rather than launching a reckless gang war, he uses the Trial by Combat to gain recognition and chooses to spare Blanca to build unity. 161 236

Jack also has a boisterous sense of humor and enjoys drinking, telling exaggerated stories, and showing off things he is proud of. His concern about becoming like his alcoholic father, however, reveals a more self-aware side. 203 205 208

Abilities & Skills

Close-Quarters Combat

  • Knocked out a Vortex Gang member with a headbutt after blocking and evading the opponent's attack. 156

  • Shows mercy when strategically useful, sparing Blanca rather than killing him after winning. 236

Firearms

Jack prefers heavy or high-impact weapons, but can adapt his loadout to the mission.

  • Uses a custom Sadala Tech Double-Barrel Shotgun capable of penetrating walls. 29 290
  • Favors weapons such as the MK.31 Heavy Machine Gun and the Achilles precision Tech Weapon. 212
